Woo! I'm on a roll with the Daily Sketches! Now I just need to get them posted before 11 at night...
Well, I got back into Maplestory. I know, it's sad, but true. I just found some monsters that I thought were cute and sketched them. This was mostly to improve my reference-using abilities, but necessarily my shading or proportions. I am absolutely terrible at copying things freehand, but what do you think?
Top-right: a slime
Top-left: an orange mushroom
Middle: a shroom
Bottom-right: a dead cloud-fox
Bottom: a crow thing, I'm not sure of the name
I know the slime's right eye is wonky, and the shroom should be WAY smaller than any of them, and that the dead cloud-fox is crooked. I just draw that way sometimes.
Each of these took about 5 - 8 minutes each, so a total of around 30 minutes.

I'm the same. I usually draw by copying an image, yet I get frustrated because it doesn't look exactly like what it is supposed to look like.
...yet I have no imagination to draw things without copying it from something.

I normally can't draw from a reference at all; it usually comes out looking distorted. That's when I take artistic liberties and change it into something that looks good.

Yep same. My drawings on their own look okay but I compare them to the original. I'm too critical of my drawings. xD
The good thing is, I know where my drawing has gone wrong, just can't be bothered to correct it. xD

Yup! I like the word wonky. My dad used to use it, but then he stopped, so then I started using it. And he started up again.
