Just a rough sketch of a scene that wasn't in the books- when they first bring Frodo and Sam back after Mt. Doom. Aragorn ends up carrying Frodo to the healing tent, and Legolas would most likely carry Sam.Related content

I am so obsessed with your art. I just love all the hobbity stuff you draw. And I love how you can draw really funny things and you're also great at more emotional ones, too.
I'm so happy that you drew Legolas and Sam. It's been my headcanon for years that those two have a special friendship. I think they have a good deal in common: they're both kind, stubborn, loyal and have a great appreciation for nature. Plus, Sam is so fascinated by elves! It would've been so cute to see something in the LOTR books about his shy curiosity toward Legolas, and then Legolas gladly indulges him with stories of Mirkwood and such, then he asks Sam to tell him about his own home, and so I think they'd really get to know each other that way. So sometimes I wish this friendship could be really elaborated on in canon, but sadly, there's hardly anything. I've read a good fanfiction or two about, though, which is nice. I'd like to imagine that Legolas was totally heartbroken to find Sam in that condition, after Mt. Doom. I feel like he would watch over Sam (and Frodo, of course!) and tenderly care for him. *sigh* all I want in my life is more of the brotherly friendship between Sam and Legolas...
Anyway, I just really appreciate that you chose to draw these two! Your art is beautiful, and so is your style! The way you draw hobbit ears is great, they're so cute and big and pointy

I always thought Legolas and Sam would get along as well. The nice thing about the books is there is plenty of time not elaborated on during their journey and afterward, so bonding could easily have happened, and probably did. I have no doubt that Legolas was truly grieved to see Frodo and Sam, and Merry and Pippin for that matter, the worse for wear. He is certainly soft-hearted about the merry little hobbits! (Bromance is awesomeness, btw

o.O wow, my heart is melting. How precious. This looks just so beaytiful I feel my eyes getting teary. It would have been such a moving scene to see this in the movie

You so do! They're my favorite books ever! And the books are pretty much like the movies in that regard- they go from Sam and Frodo being rescued to them waking up later on, so you don't get to see any of the healing and worrying and what-not. Thats why I like to imagine it ^__^

Aww, these two are my favorite characters from the series. I really enjoy rare chances in fanart and fanfiction that I get to see Legolas interacting with the hobbits. This is really sweet. I'm sure Legolas is taking good care of dear Sam.
