I choose to interpret this as Mytho and Rue's wedding where Fakir is the best man and Mytho is in awe of Rue as she walks down the aisle.

I wouldn't be surprised! Or Mytho being all, "Must take wedding vows with deadly seriousness" and Fakir, of all people, is trying to get him to relax XD

*nodnod* I like to give them a chance to really explore that dynamic, since I think Fakir would be just as fiercely loyal to whole-hearted Prince Siegfried as he was to heartless Mytho (just without the fear-of-loss-driven abuse) .

I LOVE this anime, like....man, SO MUCH, precisely because it takes the trope and then turns around and it's NOT FLUFFY ANYMORE WHAT IS THIS.
And yes, THEY ARE. One of my favorite bromances! I really think that, once Fakir was able to acclimate himself to Prince Siegfried having a heart and not needing to have everything done for him, he'd be the best knight EVAR. I mean, the guy promised to stay at the side of A DUCK. FOREVER. And if the end credits ar4e anything to go on, he keeps that promise. (Among other sacrifices he'd made even before the series started, and during its run) . But now I'm starting to monologue....

I don't think I've ever actually seen another one (after a few episodes of Sailor Moon I kind of gave up on the genre) . It has kind of spoiled me for other Magical Girl anime, though XD

Now that I think about it, the same guy who made Princess Tutu also made one called Pretear that's pretty good. I think, if I read correctly, he did Pretear first, despite having thought up Tutu first, because of some kind of production issue, so some of the character designs look a little similar. (I'm not 100% so don't quote me on that XD) But it's got a lot of that great characterization and storytelling that Princess Tutu has.
