I've actually been saving this one for awhile. I'm still not sure where this came from, but it's here, so I might as well acknowledge the fact. Now, on to the boring explanation which no one but me will read!

I'm sure I'm not the first to imagine the mane six as alicorn goddesses (theories on whether or not Celestia is grooming them to take over for herself and Luna in future can be discussed ad nauseum later) . In my re-imagining them, they're still tied to the Elements of Harmony (hence the necklaces/crown) , though I couldn't tell you what they're doing here. Maybe someone worse than Discord showed up? I'm also still not sure about the proportions. These are pretty messed up, but I did make an attempt! I also tried to make them individuals, but also put them all in the gold that their original necklaces (and Twilight's crown) were made of. I thought that would tie them together.

Twilight is still probably the leader/uniter, so I gave her the insignia/symbol of the elements of harmony img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20… around her neck, in addition to the crown. Also, since the whole alicorn thing seems to include a change in the mane/tail, I gave her a kind of sunset motif (Twilight. yeah. )

Rainbow Dash pretty much needed to be in one of those lovely Romanesque helmets, and I figure that, as a goddess, her mane and tail would trail a permanent rainbow behind her. (I didn't make it very long in this pic so it wouldn't get in the way) . She almost got a full set of armor, but that seemed to be overkill.

Rarity was born for this kind of thing. Seriously. What's more fabulous than the grace and elegance of goddess-hood? Besides being longer, her mane and tail gained a lot of sparkle. Of course Rarity would have to have lots of sparkles! I also designed a little crown for her. Something that wouldn't compete visually with Twilight's, or be heavy-looking.

Pinkie ended up with a mane that appears to be half-cloud, half creamy globules of sugary who-knows-what. While all of their manes and tails would move on their own (like Celesita's and Luna's) , Pinkie's would change shape like smoke. I just imagined her to have wild, fun hair, like the silliness is bursting out of her!

Fluttershy is another pony who would have the right kind of poise for being a goddess. Despite being a pegasus, she's so tied to the earth and its creatures, I can see live flowers growing out of her hair, and maybe wafting out behind her when she moves. Potentially messy, but could look lovely! I'm not sure how I feel about her or Applejack's design, and may change them in future, if I ever draw them again.

Yeah...Applejack... I debated the hat for a long while, because it seemed like such a part of her, but let's face it; cowboy hats do not look right on royalty. (AJ might disagree, but I can see Rarity putting her diamond-shod hoof down on this one) . The fire mane and tail were more because I liked the way they looked, and because her coloring fit. She can be pretty fiery, though. It's more of an emotional than intellectual fit.
