Crochet. So, I made this hat for my mother for Christmas almost two years ago. I do NOT take credit for the design; I found it somewhere on the internet and decided to recreate it with a different color palette. Unfortunately, at that time, I couldn't crochet anything more than a basic rectangle. I spent several hours teaching myself how to crochet the spiral needed to make the hat (with a pattern, thank god). Several more hours were spent actually making the spirals, pinning them onto the mannequin head, and then crocheting them all together. I never ended up finishing it completely since my mum isn't really a hat person. Well, anyway, I picked it up recently and put the finishing touches on it (a bit of sewing here, a little bit of crocheting in ending threads there...), and here it is. It's not the most fabulous thing ever, but I'm pretty proud of it since it was really my first big project in crochet, and I did it all by myself. :3
