Description
on tmblr: saraisnotagiant.tumblr.com/posโฆI've been playing around types of colouring that would fit my linework. I actually like where this is going, but this is still too tidy and uniform for what I'd like to achieve. Anyway, I'll keep playing around.

I get replies so rarely.ย Sadly I see this at the end of the day, and I have decision fatigue.ย I would have liked to respond, but I ...
Is your art autobiographical?ย You capture strange moments in a strange style.ย What is your goal?

i marvel at your use ofย shapes. how does your mind work? i get hung up on details every time i start something like this, i still end up smoothing things over too much. tell me something about me, but i love seeing what others come up with.

Thank you so much! I don't know, I also have a similar problem with digital painting, I often overwork things and end up throwing those layers away to make something simpler. It's easier with this kind of colouring because there's no blending so I can't oversmooth things (but still I ended up throwing away some layers because they were cluttering up the drawing).ย I sometimes really enjoy works that are really smoothly painted but it just doesn't feel right for my work. I guess it's just a constant process of rethinking my techniques and style. It's mostly enjoyable but somethines confusing because I'm never sure if I'l be able to make an actual comic book with a constant style, haha.

does a book need to be in a constant style?
no matter what approach you use, the style of your work is very clearly your own.
i know i never have to double check who drew it, its clearly yours

Hey, sorry for the mega late reply. I tend to forget about deviantArt, and that's terrible when it comes to communication. I hope you don't mind my laaate two cents.
I actually really enjoy books that vary in style, but I kind of prefer when it's intentional over when it's just accidental. As in, using styles and/or techniques to further the storytelling. (but sometimes it's also charming when it's accidental)
And, thank you! I'm happy my work is recognizable! : )
