I actually think we will be seeing a lot of the spirits, for a few reasons.
1--Spirituality is Korra's big weakpoint, so she'll probably meet some later to work on that.
2--Amon says he got his powers from displeased spirits. Something tells me those spirits just pissed off others (Yue was around when all waterbending stopped for a bit, she'd be mad to have anyone losing their bending) or there might be a big spirit fight looming.
3--The creators said a focus later on is modernity vs. tradition, and I think the spirits are tradition.

I completely agree, which is why they've been on my mind, lol. I read or heard somewhere that Bryke indicated the whole Equalist arc would be more or less wrapped up by the end of Air, so I'm wondering if the next season is going to have a spirit (or spirits) as the main antagonist.
