Watch her eyes as they well with tearsThe sum of the tortures she’s survived through the years
You know that she’s hurt but not what to say
Nothing you do will make what happened okay
You walk away in hopes she’ll overlook
That everything that mattered to her- they took
You didn’t stand up for her, but you she’ll forgive
They stole her soul and she’s forgotten how to live
So watch her eyes as they shove back those tears
And hopefully she’ll move on and gain strength from those years
