Description
"Are you sure it's a good idea?" A white she-cat with a tortie patch on her head and a black tail grumbled as she trotted after the other apprentices. "If our mentors find out, we'll be in a lot of trouble.""Don't worry, we'll be fine!" A fawn tom spoke up confidently. "Addertail and Cedarfang have to stay in Lavendernose's den for a while, and Badgerstar is too worried to leave them be."
"Well, what about Wrenwhisker?" A gray molly with a black back asked. "If he finds out Thistlepaw is missing, he'll definitely be mad!"
"It's okay Smokepaw." The blue tom purred. "He said I should try training by myself, so he shouldn't be following us."
"I guess, but still-"
"Hey, we're here!" The pinkish apprentice exclaimed as the group reached the Creek. "It seems like a lot of fish is swimming there, we could try our technique out!"
"Cool! ...What was our technique again?" Smokepaw wondered loudly, visibly confused.
"We didn't even discuss it before we went here, Rosepaw." Thistlepaw reminded the large tom.
"Umm... Yeah, right. I was hoping we could come up with something on the way here...." Rosepaw tried to justify himself, but was cut short by the slim she-cat.
"Are you serious right now?!" She yelled at the tom. "You brought as ALL THE WAY here with no reason in particular?!"
"Ch-Cherrypaw, please, calm down!" The she-cat's adoptive sister pulled the angry molly away from Rosepaw. However, Cherrypaw was already calmed.
"Fine." She sighed. "If you can't come up with a good plan on time, then I'll do it for you. I'm not going to accept that we went here for nothing."
"It wasn't a long way form camp to here, actually..." Thistlepaw mumbled to himself.
"Let's see..." The molly walked up to the Creek and looked in the water. Suddenly, she turned to face the other apprentices. "Alright, if we want to catch some fish, we need to block them off. Rosepaw, Smokepaw, your fur should do the trick."
"Are you saying we have to sit in the creek or something?" The tom asked irritatedly.
"Actually, it would be better if you laid in it."
"Oh, COME ON! You're not going to make us do it, are you?!"
"Let's just get this over with" Smokepaw muttered, to Rosepaw's surprise.
"But- But she- Ugh, fine." The two laid in the river bed opposite to each other, making sure there's still fish in the water between them.
"Great, now, Thistlepaw." Cherrypaw turned her head to face the blue apprentice. He quickly stood straight when she looked at him.
"Y-yes, Cherrypaw?"
"You're going to play an important role in this, so you better listen carefully..."
"Hey, what about us? Are we not important?!" The fawn tom laying in the water shouted. Smokepaw quikly calmed him down though.
"S-so, w-w-what is this I-I-I'm s-supposed to d-d-do?" Thistlepaw stuttered, his legs became shaky and he could feel warmth in his face, like he was blushing.
"We're going to stand on opposite sides of the stream. I'd like you to try and sweep up the closest fish you see in my direction. Then, I'll catch it and make sure it doesn't escape."
"O-okay." He replied as he got closer to the Creek and looked down at the rushing water.
The current seemed slower, as the long-furred apprentices were sitting in it, blocking some of it in the process. There seemed to be a lot of really small fish swimming around chaotically. Suddenly, he spotted a big, golden one. Without hesitation he launched his paw into the water, trying to scoop it upwards. With the force, the fish flung out the water with a big splash, right in Cherrypaw's direction. She then quickly reached out, catching it with her muzzle. The two blocking apprentices had an impressed look on their faces.
"That was AWESOME!" Rosepaw exclaimed.
"Great catch!" Thistlepaw complimented the molly.
"I didn't know you could do that!" Smokepaw pondered.
"Thank you." Cherrypaw said nonchalantly. "But I don't think one is enough. How about we try some more?"
"Yes, please, do it!" The she-cat quickly replied.
"I want to see it again!" The pinkish tom added.
"Let's do this then!" The blue tom exclaimed happily, as he readied his wet paw for another one.
So this is a thing.
I thought it would be a cute idea. Mainly because I ship Cherrypaw and Thistlepaw but shhh.
I didn't really care for the background but I think the water turned out okay? I dunno. I didn't even bother doing better shading.
