Description
This picture is intended for the Derpibooru art event celebrating MLP:FIM´s 9th anniversary. Since the series wrapped up last weekend, too, the pic is intended to give a retrospective on the character growth of Twilight during the show, as she is the main character (and also my favourite..). Originally i planned to draw a larger picture with all the Mane Six included, but unfortunately i don´t have the time to finish such a project right now, so i went with this more simple sketch.Related content

I first got into FIM around the late summer of 2012, a few months before I started my senior year of high school. A friend of mine first mentioned it to me some time before that, but being a millenial who grew up in the era when the MLP franchise as a whole was still strictly considered "for girls only", I of course brushed it off. But then, I started watching pony-related videos on YouTube, including YouTube Poops and TF2 gameplays in MLP-related custom maps. And before I knew it, I was officially hooked. However, I didn't start actively watching it until early 2016, a few years after I graduated.
Even though it's now ended its decade-long run, FIM still continues to be one of my all-time fav shows of the current age. And pics like this one really take me back.

This makes me sad knowing I was a late brony and started watching the show with one more year left before it's ending. I love this show and hope people still make fan art for years to come. I'm also hoping gen 5 would be somewhat of a continuation of gen 4.

After watching the finale, I admit I felt a little empty. Not because I wasn't satisfied, but because I knew there wouldn't be any new content. Still, I'm glad MLP won't be among those fan favorites that doesn't get a conclusion.

My Little Pony taught me how to feel, Ponies taught me to smile, Bronies taught me comfort, haters taught me anger, and after 9 years i finally know what it feels like to be afraid. Ive never felt like this before. A feeling of despair.
started watching at about 16 and Ive cried every night as a 24 year old since the end because i cant cope.
I dont know what will happen. i banked so much of my life on this fandom and the thought of losing all bronies gives an utter loss of hope.

I'm still in mourning with the series being over, but seeing the art celebrating it from the Brony Community is helping me cope with my grief and feel better with each passing day.
This is one of those pieces that I'm deeply grateful for with showing how far Twilight has come since the series started a decade ago. Very beautiful work and thank you.
