Background:
Nolen grew up in the large beautiful city of Lumiose where he spent his days exploring every corner of the town and the five routes connected to the city. He acted as a self-appointed officer, taking after his father, and would stop small crimes such as bullying and petty theft in his neighborhood. Most of his childhood was also spent caring for his extremely sick older sister, Finley. The two were the greatest of friends and were always getting into trouble with each other.

His sisters receding health was a huge issue for their family though and the strain not only effected him, but his parents marriage as well. For many reasons, both parents divorced in order to provide better lives for their children. Their mother decided to take Finley away from the pollution the big city created and Nolen and their father was to stay in Lumiose, while Finley and their mother moved in with their grandfather, Anthony in the Johto region.

That was one of the hardest times in Nolen's life and the loneliness that followed only made it worse. Nolen's grandfather seemed to blame his father for the "failure" his daughter had become and refused to allow Finley to turn out the same way. He refused their visitations with both his mother and sister, and blamed Nolen for Finley's health. "That dirty child is no use to anyone. All he does is cause trouble and hurt his sister with his childish antics." He would say, "I refuse to allow that mutt or his mongrel father to be associated with my family anymore."

This all hurt Nolen to no end, but it also drove his passion to prove to his family that he wasn't a mistake. He didn't listen to his grandfathers words and would write the girls as much as possible., It crushed him to see them so belittled, and it angered him to no end that they were blind to it. He wrote and wrote to them everyday, until eventually the letters stopped coming and they no longer answered the phone either. The last thing he received was a note that read "Leave us alone." That was when Nolen started to see his sister in magazines and knew that she didn't want him anymore.

It took a long while for Nolen to recover over the loss of half his family, but through the trouble, he found that his passion in helping people continued to grow. He began volunteering at the police station in the city to busy his mind and try to have some good come out of his whole mess. He worked hard, and with his cheerful optimistic personality and great people skills, he was eventually accepted into the Ranger Academy in the Almia region. He and his father were ecstatic. Nolen swiftly moved to Vientown for training and soon spent the next few years bettering himself and the world around him. He is now a rather accomplished Ranger who has traveled far and wide and works to befriend all
the people and pokemon he can. Now that he is stationed in Ivywood, he is just ready for the next adventure!
Relationships:
Dad (Nathan): Nolen looks up to his father like no other and wants to be as funny and selfless as he is. He always loved hearing about his fathers day at work, which consisted of helping the people and stopping the bad guys. It was always so exciting, so when Nolen was able to start going out with him on small jobs, it changed his way of living. He wanted nothing more than to help the way his father did! The love the two of them share with their silly antics and overwhelming personalities tie the two men together as the perfect father and son duo.

Mom (Laura): Nolen was close with his mother, but not as much as he always wanted to be. When she left with Finley, Nolen was so devastated. She was always one to encourage his spirited ways so when she gave him up, it made him question everything. They still talk from time to time now that she has moved back to the city, but he isn't sure what shes doing now.

Finley : He has nothing but respect and love for his sister. He misses her so much and is always looking for her in the media. He is a proud little brother who always wants to protect his big sister anyway he can. He still doesn't know Finley is living in Ivywood, but when he finds out, he will be thrilled!

Grandfather (Anthony): The thought of his grandfather just makes Nolen mad. He doesn't respect him at all and wishes he would just leave his sister alone. Although he is thankful for the safe environment he provided for Finley, he still wishes they could be on better terms.

Cory : Nolen's best friend! These two go back to their days in the Academy when Nolen bugged Cory so much. They had a rivalry for the longest time which just caused them to push each other. Their complicated relationship soon blossomed into a great friendship, even as they parted ways after graduation. It had been years since the two had seen each other until Nolen learned that his friend was going to be joining him in Ivywood!

Akiko : A cool girl that Nolen finds interesting. He thinks she is pretty nice too and totally ships she and Cory together like no other! He is probably the biggest fanboy over them.

Tsukasa : A fellow Ranger that Nolen worked with in the field. The two of them have pretty similar personalities and Nolen really enjoys his energy and fun spirit! When he learned Tsu was now stationed in Ivywood too, he was thrilled!
