No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to reach you. You fade away into the night...This was drawn using only my index finger and that tiny little mousepad thing on my laptop. That's it. No pen, no paper, no tablet, that's IT.
And it still turned out pretty good so I'm pleased with this picture for that reason. Shame Jou sucks in it though.
Anyways, I love this couple and silly as it may sound, I still love this show. Japanese version anyway. If you don't know, it's supposed to be Katsuya Jonouchi (Joey Wheeler) and Kujaku Mai (Mai Valentine) as I am a devout polarshipper. If you hate the couple or the show, please DON'T comment.
Man those light effects were fun to do!
It's a small pic but it was totally spur of the moment. I opened photoshop and started doodling. Hope you like it!
I'm going to dedicate this to my dear friend Lexi ( ) because a) I can and b) it was polarshipping that led me to her in the first place.

No problem, it really is awesome. It's the same with me, as the touchpad is all that I have (mostly because I don't have the purchasing power to get a tablet or anything), so I can only use it, too because I don't have a lineart of the image anymore (shaded it then scanned it) or I'd use my Copic markers instead...^_^

This is beautiful!! I love the coloring and the glow to it. I must say, I really impressed with the mousepad thing, because I would have been driven INSANE by it...I am now, and I'm only trying to put color to an image I scanned in.
BTW, Joey and Mai are so perfect for each other ^_^

Aww thank you so much! That's so kind.I'm considering redoing it with a tablet though and the colours in some place are waaaay too saturated XD The mousepad was frustrating but I didn't have anything else to use. Don't envy you battling with it now >.<

Yeah, not bad considering I think XD Thank you! Some of it is still not right but nevermind! It's kinda pretty.
Some people say its an overrated show but there are a lot of haters out there, also there are so many do-they don't-they moments and I love all the varying characters etc etc, its so diverse. Shame about the card games XD But yeah its so much better in Japanese even if some parts are a little more gruesome like when Shaadi gives Pegasus the eye.

Lol,I've only seen the episodes where Yami is fighting Yami Marik. Only those. XD And they were in English...Well,I'll try to find the Japanese version so I can enjoy the original version. 8D

THE MOUSEPAD, the mousepad XD Its actually easier than with a mouse but I'd still kinda like a tablet. Thanks, I was kind of experimenting with colouring and shades and the lighting effects were taking a huge gamble but they were so fun! Plus everyone knows I abuse glow tool option, I love making my pictures shiny and sparkly XD Thank you very much, I'm so glad you like it. Look how well received its been!

I have to thank you immensely for posting this when you did. I'm two days away from TECH WEEK (DUN DUN DUNNNN) for my school's musical, and my life is school, homework, practice, homework, maybe check devart and emails?, and that's IT. Oh and sleeping. Sometimes. So when I get really awesome polar things like this in my watch list, it makes my week. 
Drew with A MOUSEPAD!! I can't get over that! I love the whole thing, and especially want to comment on Jou's hair. First off, it looks like actual plausible hair, which is near impossible with anything Takahashi-sensei draws. And it looks like a really cool cross between his early manga hair and the hair we know now. I have to admit, I liked the early manga hair. I don't know if I liked it more, but I liked it, and I just love what you did with it here. And then everything else is awesome.

Serioulsy! Everyone seems to focussed on the fact that I drew it with a mousepad but if it gets me credit then I shan't complain XD I moulded it into shape with the smudge tool which is why it looks to fuzzy but you can't have it all ways.

I've not been in school for two weeks so I've had time to do stuff like this. I thought I might see you here actually, I don't draw Polar as often as I'd like to but you usually leave me a sweet comment on them when I do XD
Really, you like the hair? Thank you, I'm glad you said that, I didn't think it was as good as it could have been. I was looking at several different references for his hair which I don't usually bother to do but I wanted inspiration whihc is probably why it came out really mixed. I just adore Takahashi's style, his clothes and hair etc they're fantastic and great fun to interpret in your own way. Its also reflected in his character's personalities. They're all so diverse, many a fan artist or fanfic writer can create something from them.

And about the picture! The lighting was brilliant, and as soon as I saw this on the recent deviation thing, I squeeled! It's so beautiful! I love how both Jounouchi and Mai look, they're ever so beautiful in your style, because everything you draw is always so beautiful! The background is beautiful, and overall this magnificent piece of art has me speechless (although I can't stop typing)! I just love it so much and I really need to get back in gear with some Polar art myself!

The lighting was fun to do but isn't quite right. Then agin, you never know until you try. Doing two different lights was something I've never tried before so it was a real novelty to see how it would work out. I'm not thrilled about the BG but it will do XD It does the job. Plus I love shiny BGs and skies as you probably already know, I want to draw more polar now and you should too XD

It's not as hard as you'd think. The rough shapes were awful, I kind of moulded it into shape with the smudge tool which is why it's so feathery and blurry. Seriously? I know lots of people who love the show but then lots of people who hate it. Can't win 'em all XD
