Have some (canon!)drag!Erik and some drag!Charles.
Name suggestions anyone? Besides "Dragneto"?
Michaela (like James suggested)? And Francis (Charles 2nd name which is also a women's name)? No idea, seriously.
But this would make a nice AU as well, don't you think? Like this:
"Charles and Erik, both dancers in some clubs. And they don't know each other, but Erik has seen Charles a few times in his costume, but doesn't know it is a costume and falls in love with the short blue-eyed "woman" with the wavy brown hair. And THEN- then he meets Charles, who doesn't know anything about "his" fan, and they become best friends and stuff, but everything is drama, because Charles falls for Erik, but he knows that Erik is in love with some "woman". When he finds out Erik is in love with "him", he doesn't dare to say anything, because, well, Erik seems to like women. So he tries to avoid Erik when he is dressed. Awkward love-triangle and lots of dancing. (And I mean dancing as in "Waltzer", "Tango", and "Disco Fox", not (necessarily) as in "Striptease". xD) "
...I slowly start to wonder if I am in need of psychological help.
However, if anyone is interested in writing this, I would love to read it or to do a collab.

Also this movie would have included more historical references, more pictures of Oxford, more background for Erik, less Moira, more Darwin, Raven would have been a cute little innocent princess girl, and Erik and Charles would have had a lot more of utterly romantic and fluffy moments.
