Description I asked fiance if I should draw some Doom monsters and he said I should so I was like "OK". I pretty much took a couple of glimpses at the Doom II sprite to refresh my memory and 2,5 hours later I had drawn the inked lineart for this guy. It's amazing how much more easy it was to draw this than say, a cute furry animal. I guess I'm more used to drawing monsters or something. Then again, the design for the cacodemon isn't exactly that complex. A grinning ball with horns and fleshy texture.

The paper I drew this on was a bit of a handful since it was some thin, smooth drawing paper which wouldn't take layers very well but my wax based Luminance pencils helped a lot with that.

Copic Multiliner SP 005
Faber Castell Polychromos
Paperipiste drawing paper (Finnish cheapo paper)

Hehe, thanks Yeah Polychromos are indeed almost too good to be true. I've tries some other pencils too but Polys are simply the best. I also used some Caran D'Ache Luminance on this piece which I actually forgot to mention. I used Russet and Dark Aubergine for the red parts since it was really hard to get a dark red with just Polys on this paper.

What I like about drawing monsters, and ugly creatures in general, is that if they look a little bit assymetric it doesn't ruin the drawing. It's like you could say the assymetry is a part of their ugliness. And when drawing cute animals/creatures, you have to make sure it's symetric as possible, else it may fall into some sort of uncanny valley (if I've even used the term right)
....aaaaaaaaaandd if you're wondering if I did this little speech because I've found some assymetry in your drawing, nope. Maybe the right size is little bigger but nothing that pops out at first glance. SO great job

Yeah there definitely is some asymmetry but whenever I checked it out on the mirror, it wasn't that bad. I draw at the living room a lot and I have a tendency to pick up the drawing onto my lap. That's when the asymmetry happens. Thanks for the feedback, it was very helpful
