Description Hey hey, I haven't disappeared I visited my mum and then I've been doing some media testing. I finally gave acrylics a proper try but they just don't work for me. I'm used to having my lines show through and I paint with layering transparent colors to get the colors light so acrylics completely and utterly throw everything off for me.

Today I also tried clear watercolor ground on an octopus that I've been painting but the liquid also grabbed some color with it so that was a bust too. I think I'm going to try InkTense blocks next. I've used InkTense before but I only had the pencils which have pretty poor light-fastness ratings and they don't lend themselves well for making washes.

It's not that my usual technique is bad or anything....I'm just trying to find ways to take my watercolor stage further so I don't have to use colored pencils so much.

Here I did some dynamic sketching for the course again. The lizard - man was supposed to be a shark. LOL. Gave them some quick colors with pastel pencils and colored pencils. It was fun although the end result was a tad too grainy.
