Description
A long overdue Super Metroid piece!Tried to go for a dull smoke effect, trying to give the impression of soot or dirt in the air, not sure wether it works that well, tell me what you think!
Done in Photoshop CS5, took about 8 hours.

I love the gravity suit! The colors here really stand out in this piece and add a great deal of detail to Samus. The background fits well with her overall saturation but her stance is hard to read in relation to it. I suppose she is just now following onto a platform or just now getting ready to jump. The position of her upper body would suggest just now falling. The suit is very true to form and the lining is well done to her overall proportions. The angle on the right knee seems slightly more forward than true to life. I love the pose and the power enforced by the upper body and the helmet has a great level of detail and lighting that really brings it together. I love what youve done with the suit in general in relation to the lava behind and I think the soft lighting for it really adds some great detail. Overall, great job!

Still getting used to poses and stuff as i've had no education whatsoever and I still to this day draw things as they are and just go for it, no rough sketches or anything.
The idea I had behind it was originaly to have her stance seeming slightly startled and ready to put her gun arm into her iconic aiming position.

You have done a great job with the dull smoke effect. It actually makes me feel like I'm with Samus in Tourian, hunting down the Space Pirates and snuffing out their operations. In addition, the smoke, along with Samus's pose, adds a certain amount of tension and mystery to the scene, as if she's anticipating an ambush. Also, great job with the lighting effects and colors on Samus's Gravity Suit. She's definitely looking very fierce. Awesome job!

Really cool coloring job there! The dust effect probably could have stood out a little more if you wanted it to work better, but it still looks good!
