Pre-citystate snacks tended to be whole dried fish packed with herbs and salt. They'd be trout-sized dried fish usually, sometimes smaller. Most Zenn have access to fish of some sort and the ones that didn't often had collections of small insects to munch on. Fruit is much harder to come by and is treated as a dessert but was traditionally a survival food. It usually had a heavy concentration of sugars and vitamins but were difficult to find. Strips of skin-fat are a necessity when on the move but are supplemented with a little of everything else available. Seaweed and lakeweed are eaten fresh, dried, and cooked but because of their weight are usually picked and eaten on the go.

With modern day Zenn the snacks range from dried meat/fish, small crustaceans that can be eaten whole, insects, raw eggs, and ground up fruit and meat bars, to cooked and raw meat skewers, whole small live animals, raw bones, shellfish, and pickled vegetables. A lot of traditional snacks with new twists are eaten too.

The Zenn don't drink stimulants but they DO have what I suppose could be sorta like broth houses. Some of them also serve soup but for the most part it's just meat and vegetable broth. Zenn consider tea and broth to be the same thing. Their broths usually don't have anything except for nutritional value and that they're hot and help replenish fluids. Broth is usually eaten with prepared fat strips, occasionally raw fresh meat and sliced vegetables accompanied by dry dipping powders, and occasionally imported fruit slices.
Individual seats will have a small table or ledge with a built in hot plate to keep bowls at an adjustable temperature. In some places they give different types of seating options including higher perching spots, hammocks, and slings. The atmosphere is generally quiet with soft conversation.
