Well, I didn't win. I didn't even make it to an honorable mention. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to sink so much time into these pieces. I get to wondering if I even have the ability needed for these groups. I don't want to be a sore loser or anything! Just after so many tries in large breed groups for these sorts of things....I really have to wonder.

The powerful mare's legs thundered against the green grass of the meadow before they stiffened to bring her to a halt. The air was changing, and her nostrils flared. It was biting now and had lost its softness. Something was changing.

What was bringing on this change? Her head turned left and right to scan her surroundings, but she could not pick up a definite source. She lifted her head into the air and took in a massive breath of the biting, yet refreshing breeze.

There was something welcoming about it. The wind, though cold, felt glorious in the waning Summer sun. The heat blazed on but then was offset by the cool breeze. It was glorious.

Excitement filled her. Was this the perfect time of year? She let out a whinny and charged through the meadow as fast as her hooves could take her. The cold wind swirled around her form, refreshing her muscles whilst the hot sun blazed her on.

Summer's End was here, but with it it brought an exciting Beginning.
