ughh. i am up so late. i will regret this tomorrow. wanted to get this done before starting gift art in December.as you may or may not have realized, about 90% of what i draw is based on some random fluke of wanting to draw a random aspect of a picture (usually hair, or an outfit), in this case it's wings. i didn't really have a picture of Eny with her wings out that i liked, mainly because her wings are so stupidly large that it's hard to fit them into a picture properly (also why they are usually retracted). so i doodled this up, then decided she was avoiding lasers to explain the ridiculous pose. ZAP! ZAP! anyways, i actually kind of really like how it came out. we'll see how long THAT lasts. i have no idea who is shooting at her. i'm sure i'll notice something on this later that i don't like. bah! she is a half-dragon, though totally gargoyles based, because that show was the fucking dope.

Heheheh, have you read the comics (SLG, not the ancient Marvel ones)? Cause, dang, this could have been a panel in the 1st or 2nd issue!

I've read the first ones of the SLG and some of the Marvel. the Marvel ones were god-awful. SLG were much better, though the art was kind of lacking. But thanks!

It gets better, and other artists add to the mix. If you want the whole story, you've got to buy the trade paperbacks because Disney was like: "Keep up with a production schedule? LOL, naw, we'll crank out 50 Hannah Montana books a month instead!"
SLG is trying to get Disney to renew the license, though, so hope is not lost.

I can't keep reading it, because while I like the whole Lexington/England storyline, the Timedancer storyline makes my brain melt with the ridiculous fan-ficness of it all. :\

Have you read it? TD only takes, like, two issues because it was always meant to be a spin-off to be told later. There IS a purposeful WTF moment that Greg planned as a mind f***, but I thought it was handled well.
And even if you hate TD, they other comics make up for it ten-fold.

i've read the synopsis and Greg's explanation of it, and the entire thing is a bit too fan-fic animu-ridiculous for me. i'm sure the stuff leading up to it is good, but i'm too cheap to investigate further. i'm happy with where the series was when it ended (before TGC which were crap and not canon)

I like the lighting on the wings and yes they are friggin' huge! I'm guessing she could lift at least 2x her weight with those.
I come from a photography background and I noticed the beam there in the background. Light moves kinda fast and I think it's cool that you were able to use a "shutter speed" fast enough to stop the beam like that. It's the one thing that I would love to take a picture of but will probably never get a chance to.

Nice art, but the show isn't dope. Unless you are talking about The Goliath Chronicles, then there are some people getting disappointed at that, but me I love the show. I love to see Gargoyles artwork too. ^_^

the original Gargoyles was pure dope. The Goliath Chronicles was exceedingly lame (or lame as fuck, to use the parlance of the streets) in comparison, probably because they were taken out of the hands of Greg Weisman.

Love the dynamic pose and the size of the wings is great! It seems like the proportions a human-sized animal would have to have in order to actually attain flight.

That radiant glow effect on her wings really grabbed my attention. May I asked what brushes or tools you used to create the effect that way?

uhh, normal round photoshop brush with the opacity and fill set to like 12 or so

uhh, on a layer above the flat shading, opacity and fill are settings on the brush. you use them at the same time.

Sorry, still learning to compose traditional arts over to digital. I use Paint Shop Pro x12 and it has all of those and sometimes it seems like those two contrast each other.

Nicely done...love how the arms fade to red...and the one open glowing eye.
And you're right, Gargoyles was an excellent program. Shame the conventions for it ended this year.
