WIP for an assignment I'm doing for electronic design... my favorite class b/c I'm very good with Adobe products. We're going to incorporate our illustrations with an article and make a website for it... Though I already know how to do most of this, it is fun to have some easy work to do, and my teacher says that I may make an alternative thing in place of the last assignment. The last thing we learn to do in class is to make a portfolio website, but because I've already scripted/made one, he says I can do something else if I like : )

Adobe Illustrator CS3 : ) Mouse.

Hmm...just how do you make a portfolio website? I would love to know that. Do you think you could make a tutorial on that? If nothing else, just telling us what should go on such a website or the general look of one would help so much.

I love the look you have going.

Er, I usually script my website with a text-editor... because I'm old school XD It's easier to make with photoshop and dreamweaver.... do you happen to have either of these programs?

The most important thing about making a portfolio website is to make the site simple enough that you can get to the artwork easily. Simple backgrounds are preferred so that they do not distract from the works.... I'll upload a lil' something to my scraps outlining what should be included. : )

No, I don't have a text-editor. The few I have tried, I have not liked. I'm old fashion (and anal) in that I learned coding so I could build my website exactly how I want it. Like, right now, I'm learning the new CSS3 codes and trying out the beta IE8.

The problem is putting what I've learned into practice. I can't get past the layout. It's one thing to know coding, another to know design.

Okay, I eagerly anticipate your tutorial. And much thanks.

I know what you mean xD I like to view the code and know exactly what's going on. : ) Erm, I think I used to use Notepad++ [link] and I used Editpad [link] . I dunno if either of these have a mac version. These days, I use dreamweaver's text mode.

Knowing the coding makes things a whole lot easier. : ) That makes things a heck of a lot easier when I upload my notes : )

I like using NoteTab. I love how handy it is. Hmm...I didn't really consider it a text-editor, but I suppose it would be one. So, okay, I have and like one. XD;

NoteTab Light is for free and you can download it here: [link]

Wow, that's amazing! The clean lines look so good!
Love the colour choices and how the eyes stand out! Also, lovely simplistic style... you really manage everything you set out to do, don't you?

Keep it up! <3

Nice pic! I like the gradient you added to the shorts and the slight gradient on the shadow of the jacket.
I definitely have to play around with Illustrator some more.

Thank ya. Happy you like the gradients as well n__n Usually I stray away from Illustrator because with all of shading I do leads itself away from the vector-style but it was rather fun playing around with it. I think I'll be doing more work in it as well : )

D'oh! thats amazing! I dont think I can survive with the lasso tool and pen tool alone. xD I love your use of gradients! gives it a nice touch, so that it isnt completely flat. :3 I like how she holds her umbrella, partly because I sometimes hold mine like that. xDD

LOL. That's the thing about illustrator... it's basically the pen tool... with fanciness. >> I mean, that's pretty much the whole program XD

I'm happy you enjoy the gradients. I thought I'd add a lil spice. : )
