I don't think they call him gay to insult him, I think it's that they LITERALLY THINK he's gay. 'Cuz they say he acts like a girl...except I don't see why they'd think that...sure he's not the most masculine character but he's not exactly feminine either

Wait wait wait! He tried to flirt with Peach!? Youknow, I've been reading his personality a lot, and he also seems like a person who...is smug, and he also acts like one. As you know he said once in the game that the heroes had no longer any value to him, so he would end their games. And although, he's a little too psychopathic(WHICH makes him one of the MOST AWESOME CHARACTERS EVER)to love anybody besides himself...

You know the part in the game where you fight him in the Dotwood Tree? Well if you go to him playing as Peach he'll say some sort of simile about her, which sounds flirtatious (forgot exactly what he said, haven't played it in a while)
Though I highly doubt that was love, I think he was just checking her out like practically every guy in the flippin' series -__- Then they just went right on to trying to kill eachother. I don't believe he's even CAPABLE of feeling love for any creature other than himself, which again, MAKES HIM THE MOST AMAZING CHARACTER EVER. *cough* I should write a poem about him *cough*

The reason I like that pairing is because it would never happen (as with any pairing involving Dimentio), so I find it amusing to think about it XD so no offense taken, I'm aware of his lack of care for anything

Oh now I understand^^ I thought that the most of those who like that pairing was because they think it seemed like Mimi and Dimentio liked each other(as it REALLY DOESN'T seem like that)so I'm a little like "That's never gonna happen!" when I see people doing fan art of them together

Well that's just why I like it, idk about other people though :I but a random guess would be from the first cutscene with Bleck and his minions and Mimi yelled at Dimentio for stealing her diary "again", I guess people were thinking of the whole "guys taunt girls to hide that they like them" thing and that might be how it started, but Dimimi is one of the most popular pairings in the entire series...despite the fact I like it, I really don't understand why it's so popular...

True, but as we know, Dimentio, through the whole game, was trying tof ind people's weakness, so perhaps, he tried to find Mimi's weakness by reading her diary. As he reminded Bleck of Bleck's real name(as I've already said XD)

For some reason I've been like, obsessed with wanting to find out his past though, as it's hinted at in the game by Tippi knowing him before and Bleck rejecting him as a minion at first, then accepting him after something he read in the Dark Prognosticus about him...it makes me horribly curious.

There's actually alot of speculation that he WROTE the Dark Prognosticus. Yeah, the book refers to him as the "Dark one", which is probably why Bleck accepted him the second time to ensure he'd be able to destroy everything.
But Nintendo did give clues to his past...with Tippi knowing him and Bleck rejecting him at first...I'd count those as clues that he must've done something to get on their bad sides before the game, Mariowiki says it's possible he was part of the Tribe of Darkness

Welp, he was refered to as "The Dark One" in the Dark Prognosticus and it said something like "And then the Dark One will use the power of the chaos heart and the man in green to destroy all worlds" Merlon or Bleck or someone read that aloud I think
