Description

Sassy sat in her class as she normally did when it came time for her to focus on her independent work. She tapped her long squared nails on the table considering for a moment what she’d like to work on. She had access to a multitude of subjects and pondered them all. There wasn’t entirely one subject when it came to magic she didn’t grasp rather easily. She’d continue to consider this, tapping her nails on the table absently lost in thought.

“And that’s why I think Mars keeps her nails done” Arkania said directly at Sassy.

Sassy blinked and turned her attention to the dark kitsune who addressed what was apparently a half statement in her direction.

“Uhm.. Come again” Sassy replied.

Arkania giggled at the oblivious blonde kitsune before her “I was just talking about how Mars has long nails because of you” She gave a little wink at Sassy whose face flushed at the truth.

“I mean it only makes sense. You’ve been with her for how many years? For all that time Mars has kept her nails long despite her being so sporty. I mean come on. It can’t be easy to swing around that greatsword of hers during fencing practice with them and I can imagine they only get in the way during a fair few of her other sports like hammer tossing”

Sassy’s face shone bright red. Embarrassment creeped into her usual confident speech at being so blatantly called out “Well.. Yeah so? I like long nails.. So what?”

Arkania giggled even more, tilting her head and flicking her fluffy ears “No need to get so red Sassy! It's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's common for kitsune like us to develop a bit of a fetish for these things. Growing our nails is such a normal part of our development especially during our formative years!”

Arkania pulled up a seat and reached over the table they were now sharing and took one of Sassy’s hands gingerly into her own. Arkania herself had wonderfully manicured square tipped long nails polished a bright and shiny shade of red “Take me for example. Both of my parents were kitsune. Weird I know as they usually take mates from other races and peoples nowadays. Naturally both had wonderful long nails they took care of so lovingly all throughout my life even when I was little”

Arkania’s eyes shone brightly as she quickly got excited. Her face started to flush as she looked directly down at Sassy’s hand in her own. Unable to help herself, she ran her thumb over Sassy’s bright white tipped nails and took up quite the smug little look “And they looked exactly the same as yours Sassy~”

“H-Hey! Not so handsy there Arkania! You made your point. Whatever that point might have been..” Sassy was quick to change the subject with her colleague. As they both sat there at the table Sassy picked up one of her various points of study, bouncing ideas off of Arkania while mischievous kitsune remained at the table nodding, half-absently ogling Sassy the entire time.

Hiya there! This is my first real submission like this. I've really wanted to add in more backstory to my pictures for a long time and this is one of the first stories I came up with. Its introducing a new OC named Arkania based off of a friend of mine. I'd like to start drawing her some more and give her a more proper introduction. I really just wanted to get this idea out there especially since I haven't been able to draw for well over two weeks because of work. Please look forward to more things like this!
