Description
As promised, the last drawing for #rodyaweek .I absolutely adored working on this one. I used almost the same technique as with my earlier Ballad of the Windfish , which means: watercolors as a basic underpainting over the sketch, and then go over it with colored pencils.
I made some photographs in-between steps, anyone would like to have a tutorial on my coloring technique?
I've made a tutorial on my coloring technique, which can be found here !

You've caught the mood from the book perfectly! I've only had a vague idea of the layout off his room, but now I'll always think of it like this!

Why thank you! For the room layout I was heavily inspired by the Russian film adaption from 1969, by the way.

You've inspired me go looking for the film now! I just checked Youtube, and there's a whole host of 'Crime and Punishment' related videos I've not seen - I always forget to look there for some reason!

Whenever I finish a book or game TV Tropes is always the first place to go XD

A tutorial would be very nice.
The work has some cold but somehow warm atmosphere. I like that how you shaded the blanket, it looks so bumpy. And I think the door is just fine, even if it were a bit tilted compared to the wall. That's just fits it, making it look older and not so fancy.

Thank you!
I intended the colors to be more cold than warm, actually, but my ground layer became very orange-pinkish so I went with it. It's supposed to be an hot summer anyway. And you're right, in such an old garret a crooked door might be the best door.
Tutorial is on it's way.
