No, Deidara is male. Although I have a translation of Chapter 248 where he refers to Sasori as his 'danna' which means husband or something, and Gaara also says 'She uses homingdevices' but later on in the manga Deidara adresses himself with 'boku(wa)' and that's a male referral for 'I', girls use 'watashi'.
But furthermore I don't know Japanese. Dei is male. But if he IS a girl (we wait for the anime to catch up to that, when there will be a voice available), I laugh my pants off. Than Gaara was being straight the entire time!
