"I'm just so scared, I think they found me, my past is finally catching up to me, I'm so stupid for thinking I could finally have a normal life-"

At the sound of that he tensed up and stood up with you still cradled in his arms, you looked at him with a confused look in your eyes.

"What are you doing? You need to head to work soon."

"Fuck that job, you're more important to me than some job, we are leaving this instant go get some clothes and meet me in the car in thirty minutes"

“Where are we even going Levi? This is ridiculous”

You complained as you looked out the window with a worried look crossing your face, Levi said nothing as he held your hand. You immediately stopped being tense and you looked at him with an expression best described as adoration.

“I can’t believe you’re doing this, I’m really not worth it” You mumbled as he pulled up to a shady looking motel, you were never used to the fancy things in life so this didn’t bother you at all but Levi has been living the good life for quite a while so you were impressed he would even you with the idea of staying at a place like this, especially since it looked like it hasn’t been properly cleaned in ages.

“Short stack? Is that you?”

You heard a very enthusiastic voice call out and Levi tensed, you heard him curse under his breath and you laughed, covering it up as a cough when Levi threw you a half hearted glare.

“Hi shitty glasses, give me the cleanest room you have, if it’s not clean enough I’ll rip your hair out of your skull and use it as a rag to clean with”

“Someone is in a bad mood”

Hanji pouted as she grabbed some keys and asked the both of you to follow her, you followed them silently, you were contemplating how you’d get away from Levi. You loved him with all of your heart but you didn’t want to put his life in danger.

Once you were taken to your hotel room Levi locked the door and made sure the windows were locked, he turned to you with his usual serious face.

“Now will you explain, brat?”

You sighed and bit your lip before nodding.

“You deserve that much…”

He nodded and sat next to you, immediately grabbing your hand.

“After I had gotten ‘kidnapped’ and after I kicked those guys ass apparently someone had been watching, they thought I’d make a great killer and….. and the rest is history”

You replied as calmly as you could without letting your voce shake, you looked over at Levi and you saw he had his eyebrows furrowed, you knew he was trying to process this. I mean he has been living with a killer and he is in love with said killer as well, hell he was thinking about proposing the night you had told him you were leaving.

“I don’t care about your past”

He finally responded after a while of thinking, you threw him a confused look, he had just asked about your past and now he is saying it does not matter.

“All I care about is your future…with me”

He murmured as he buries his face into your hair causing you to giggle, he knew you loved it when he did that, that smooth little bastard.

“Alright, since when did you start being Mr. Smooth”

You joked as you placed a kiss on his temple.

“The moment I met you, don’t you remember?”

“..you threw your tea at me because you heard me tell my friend a pick-up line and you thought I was saying it to you”

You accused as you booped his nose with your own, he made a thinking face and then he let out a barley audible chuckle while nodding.

“Oh yeah”

You laughed at his attempt at looking innocent, you knew he was everything but.

“Lets play, I’m bored” You whined, Levi smirked at this and winked at you, before the little pervert could get any ideas though you took out a chess board from the suit case, his shoulder sagged a little and you stopped yourself from laughing.

A couple of hours later of you two threatening to leave each other if the other was to lose, Levi sat there with a proud smirk and you lay on the floor with the most pitiful pout in the world.

“Whatever, I let you win”

"Whatever helps you sleep at night brat"

You hmph’ed and got up only to plop down on the bed, Levi rolled his eyes at your childishness and laid next to you, pulling you closer to him, the both of you cuddled until the both of you drifted off to a peaceful sleep.

Levi sleepily opened his eyes when he felt you give him a whisper of a kiss, he smiled slightly and drifted off to sleep once more, A couple of minutes later he woke up once more but he didn’t feel you next to him.

“I swear if you fell off the bed again-“

He cut himself off when he didn’t see you on the floor like he would sometimes see, he stood up and checked the rest room, when he saw you weren’t there either he felt his heart start beating faster, he saw the suitcase didn’t have any of your stuff any more, he quickly ran out the door and asked Hanji if she had seen you.

“Yeah, she just left like twenty minutes ago, she told me not to tell you though….oops”
He hastily thanked her and ran out the door, the car was still there so yo either called a cab or you went walking, he ran to the room and grabbed his stuff before he drove off.

His phone made a noise, letting him know he got an email, he parked quickly and looked at it, it was his shared bank with you thanking you for the purchase of a plane ticket, he smirked to himself, thanking his lucky stars as he made his way to the nearest airport.

As soon as he got there he looked for you frantically, praying that you hadn’t left yet. He felt his heart stop when he didn’t see you anywhere.

“Will the passengers going to the surprise flight please head to-“

He didn’t get to hear the next few words because he saw you getting up, so that’s where you were going, he quickly went up the lady that sells airplane tickets and purchased one, thankfully that plane wasn’t full, they had many seats left.

Once he got his ticket he ran in the direction you had left, when he caught up to you, you were shocked and relieved at the same time.

“You thought you could run away from me, brat?”

“If you follow me you will get hurt”

“I don’t give a crap, I love you and I will protect you from whatever is coming our way, no matter where you go, I’ll go… I love you”

You got teary eyed and you hugged Levi without saying a word, you nodded with a smile so bright it put the sun to shame.
