Zack: "You'll be my living legacy."Cloud: "Thank you... I won't forget..."
Right, so... I just recently completed Crisis Core again after many years of not playing, and again, that ending just... yeah. Basically, I had a hard time drawing this and I kept having to stop because I kept tearing up. That ending was beyond powerful and emotional and just overwhelmingly heartbreaking and beautiful in a dark way I guess you could say. The scene between Cloud and Zack always touched me in more ways than I can say, so... I had to get my feels out! And here's the end result of getting my feels out. This was probably one of the most challenging pieces I have ever done. I had to use about 5-6 different types of reference photos just to capture the moment in full since the screen never pans out to show the full moment like this. So yeah... anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this because I worked really hard on this piece to capture every powerful moment/emotion throughout the whole scene in this one image. I have to say honestly, I am really proud of myself right now.Β

My goodness, once again you show your absolutely astounding talent at portraying deep, deep emotion in your drawings.
One of the truly amazing things here is that you don't just see the emotion (on Cloud's face, and in his eyes) but you feel it too, in every part of his stance.

Oh thank you so very much! I definitely tried! I teared up many times while working on this piece, and it didn't help I was listening to the Crisis Core soundtrack while making it, which was very influential for my inspiration and the creation of this particular work. I've played it through twice now and I cried both times I played it through. It's just that moving of a game. But thanks again so much!

I recently completed the ending to Crisis Core for a second time after not playing for a few years, and it had the exact same impact on me, so to get my "feels" out, I drew this ending scene. It was VERY difficult and challenging, but I really am proud of how this turned out, and yes, this scene makes me cry too. It's heartbreaking. Cloud's face, his screaming, Β his eyes, his expression. I tried so hard to capture his emotion here. And again, thank you! I am happy that you do!

The look in Cloud's eyes, the bruises...so painful! I love the slope of his shoulders, just everything in this picture is realistic and emotional. Fantastic job.
Also, I especially love how the background is completely bright and cheery but the actual subjects are desolate and in despair. Great juxtaposition.
