So, I got a brand new Wacom Intuos Manga tablet from my hubby as an early Christmas present and I decided to draw Ariel as the very first image I ever completed with this new tablet! I'm absolutely in love with the tablet. It works brilliantly, it's amazing, the perfect size, the brush strokes are just WOW. I decided to try just a simple soft shade with this image instead of hard, cel shading and whatnot. We watched The Little Mermaid last night and I watched it for the first time in a very long time. Probably since I was a child. It's still my favorite Disney movie to this very day and Ariel is still my favorite princess. That will never change. I was inspired to draw Ariel, and this is what happened. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this. I am NOT going to let anybody get me down when it comes to my art! I will NEVER stop doing what I love, no matter HOW shitty the anatomy might be, I don't care. I love drawing and doing what I do with this new tablet. Thank you in advance to any comments and/or faves I may get from you guys. It means a lot to me.

I am hoping lots more after the holidays calms down lol. It's gonna be getting really crazy busy here in my household soon, so I won't have as much time for art as I'd like. But I will try and squeeze out as much as I can between now and Christmas!

Haha, of course I don't mind! Well, let's see... It was the very first Disney movie I saw as a child. It was the very first movie I saw in an actual movie theater and not a drive-in. It was the very first Disney movie I ever owned on VHS that was all mine. My mom had bought me Little Mermaid bedsheets and bedspread for my bed when I was little. I had an Ariel doll with a removable tail that I just loved. And also I remember the very first time I saw it, I cried at the end when her Daddy brings himself up to the ship and hugs her. I was really young. Maybe 6 or 7 years old? But yeah. It just has that special connection to me. I don't know. I know it sounds lame, but it's true.

Awwh! That's awesome and adorable. I was about the same age last time I saw it straight through too, hehe, but I'm kinda obsessed with mermaids in general. But those memories, they're priceless hehe. That's VERY awesome. Definitely not lame in the least!!! And I think I mighta had that same doll when I was little, though I'm not sure since that was years later than you…

Awww really? Hehe I love mermaids too, but I just love Ariel. I've been told I have a personality a lot like her so maybe that's why she's my favorite as well? I don't really know lol. Haha, well even now they still make Ariel dolls, so I'll bet you did.

Haha I think she is! She's a dreamer, much like me. She's adventurous and loves to have fun and be challenged, like me. She's kindhearted and sensitive, like me, so I just really can relate to her in many ways.
