Description
Wow! I tell you, Thanksgiving vacation is a nice time to get my inspirations out on paper as much as possible. This will probably be the last drawing I do of Gee for awhile. Once vacation is over and it's back to work, I'll be focusing on commissions and keychain drawings. Anyway, I always love how much emotion Gee pours into his music, but watching the man perform live, you can see it more than anything in his facial expression and in his eyes how much he feels his music and gets into it. The title for this one is a song from Danger Days called Summertime. It makes my heart feel warm when I listen to it and I remember Gee talking about how his inspiration for that song was his wife, Lindsey (aka LynZ from the band Mindless Self Indulgence) and it actually really is a beautiful, romantic song by MCR. I absolutely fell in love with it, so that song was my inspiration for this piece, particularly his expression as he's trying to convey just how much he loves his wife through this song. Oh and I tried to give his hair the sort of more stringy, damp look it has when he's on stage because he gets so sweaty and it's just kinda sexy lol.Thank you in advance for any comments and/or faves. It means so much to me. More than you could ever know.

Summertime. My absolute second-favorite My Chem song.
And this picture -- it's gorgeous. Absolutely stunningly gorgeous. Exactly as you said in the description, in this picture you captured tons of real emotion. It is so beautiful!!!

Awww, is it really? I just adore the song myself, but even moreso that it's a real, tender and beautiful love song that Gerard wrote for his wife, so I think that's just precious and what makes it so special. Anyway, thank you so much! I tried!

That's amazing! Gerard and LynZ are my favorite celebrity couple -- they really seem to love each other to death! Oh you're very welcome, and thank you! After I finished looking at your pictures I was suddenly inspired to pick up my pastel pencils (which I've never actually used before) and draw Gee too, in color, or attempt to draw him).

They're mine too. I just absolutely adore them and I've been a big fan of Lindsey for a long time. Actually, I play some bass guitar and my husband is a guitarist/bassist who's been teaching me a lot. She's been a HUGE inspiration to me. I may try and draw her next actually!
Oh wow, have you really!? I hope you post it and let me know when you do! I'd love to see it! I'm so happy that I could inspire somebody! That makes me feel really good.

Oh! That's really cool, LynZ seems like a good person from what I've seen with her and Gerard
I'd love to see a drawing of her, I'm sure you could do that awesomely! Wow, bass guitar! That's really a amazing skill! The instrument sounds so nice!
Alright, I will! Thank you I'm basically done, but I'm afraid it won't be nearly as good as your work.

omg Some friends of mine got to meet her and Gerard back in October, and they said that she is one of the nicest people they had ever met. It was at a convention actually and Lindsey and Gerard were sitting together and Lindsey actually noticed them and beckoned them over to sit down and talk with them. She was so sweet and kind, asking them questions, giving them hugs and such. I would LOVE to meet her someday, just so I could thank her for being such a huge inspiration for me. And yes! Bass! I've actually been having a blast learning and playing it. My hubby has been playing guitar since he could walk. He loves both, but guitar is his first love and bass is mine!
Ahh, don't say that! You know what I tell everybody who asks me stuff about art? I tell them not to give up. I tell them to keep drawing, keep practicing whenever they get any sort of possible chance to do it, just go for it! I'm sure it's going to look awesome!

Wow, that's amazing. Meeting them'd be like a dream. Wow, LynZ does sound like an extremely nice person! So wow.
That's awesome. Since he could walk? Wow, your husband sounds like a really musical person. Well, enjoy bass!
Okay. Aw, thank you, a lot! I'll remember that and not give up, and keep drawing at every opportunity.
I sometimes get discouraged when I compare my work to others, but looking at it that way, is really encouraging.
Thanks. Hehe, I was actually doodling Loki from The Avengers while doing my History today
And I've posted my Gerard.

I know it would. I'm gonna try my hardest to if I ever get the chance. Places like Comic Con and such are a good way to meet him. I'd love to meet both him and Lindsey.
Yep, he sure is! Has his own band too and stuff. He's a pretty incredible guitarist. I could sit and listen to him play for hours. He's written me songs and such too.
Remember what I told you in another comment. Don't get discouraged by other art. I used to do that all the time to myself. Look at somebody's art and beat myself up and say I'd never be able to get that good like they are, but I was wrong! Just keep at it!

Comic Con? Sweet! I'd love to go there anyways someday! I love comics too, though mostly Marvel more than Dark Horse. good luck, I really hope you meet him someday! It would be super awesome, and I think Gee and LynZ would both really like you.
My aunt said she might take me and my cousin to a Justin Bieber concert this summer, which I think would be super epic and all, but meeting Gerard⦠that would be EXTREMELY epic. Although I think Justin and Gee have a lot in common that a lot of people don't notice⦠not in style of music, but in personality. Both sing from the heart; both really care tons about their fans, like TONS more than the average entertainer does; both do what they do not for the money; both have a really strong message they want people to know; both do charity stuff ⦠but I seriously digress. Why the heck did I bring up Justin anyways⦠O.O Gee is super amazing.
His own band! Wow! What's it called? What's the genere? He's written you songs, aw that is just so so so sobso SWEEEEEEET!!!!!
Okay, thank you, I'll definitely really remember that. About a year ago or a little more, when I became a teenager I felt like I should be a lot better by then, and I actually quit drawing for a couple months⦠then I had to do it again because it's so fun, y'know. But you know, what you said to me about that, it seriously helps. It's seriously encouraging me a lot, and it means a real lot. Like, really encouaging. Thank you very much!!!!!!!

Haha it would be amazing! I'm a huge fan of Umbrella Academy and can't wait for Killjoys to come out this year too! So exciting! But there are a lot of other Dark Horse comics I enjoy as well, so... Awww, I would hope so! I just want to meet them both and thank them from the bottom of my heart for how inspiring and helpful they have been to me in my life. I just turn up the speakers and they get me through the bad stuff. It's incredible the power that music has.
Awww, that would be nice! Haha, it's okay dear. You brought up Justin because he's somebody you love to listen to and he inspires you. That's why! But yes, I agree. Gerard is really amazing. β₯
Yes, he sure does! Their band name is called Recoil. The genre is rock, and yes he most certainly has! We've also recorded music together off and on just to play around. It's a lot of fun!
Don't push yourself to become better just because you're a certain age. If you want to become better, then just keep practicing and working REALLY hard. Every artist improves with time and you're no exception, because you will too! I'm really happy that I could help, and you are most welcome.

Comics ARE amazing. Yeah, the Killjoys comic is one Dark Horse comic I won't wanna miss. Even my sister will really wanna read that, and she doesn't usually like comics.
Yeah gosh, music is a powerful thing. I love how it makes Gerard happy when fans thank him.
Thanks. Glad I'm not just a fangirl who can't help but get JB into my conversationsβ¦
There's just so much good music and amazing musicians in the world.
Ah, very nice! Recoil, awesome! And that is just so impressive! So are the two of you kinda like Gerard and LynZ?
Okay, I got it! Thank you!

Awww I love the expression on his face. I think he is kinds of sad in this picture? But this is a very pretty picture. The hair the eye brows and the hands are so lively! And he is on the stage no? The background I can tell is on the stage. well done, good job!
Happy Holiday dear

SassyLilPanda In reply to icegirljenni [2012-11-24 22:20:50 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much! No, he's not so much sad as he is just expression emotion through his music. He does that a lot while on stage. His eyebrows turn upward and he does look kind of sad when he's singing, but he's not. He's just really feeling his music deep in his heart and soul to the point that he can express it through his facial expressions while he's singing. Yes, he is on stage! Thank you very much and Happy Holidays to you too!

You're welcome dear

SassyLilPanda In reply to icegirljenni [2012-11-25 16:32:51 +0000 UTC]
Yes. He does that in nearly all of his songs. He's the type of artist who really feels his music when he's performing live and on stage. He closes his eyes, turns up his eyebrows. I mean he really gets into it.

SassyLilPanda In reply to icegirljenni [2012-11-26 15:46:51 +0000 UTC]
Very popular and very loved. There are also some people who hate him too. Why? Because they listen to bullshit rumors about a fantastic band. It's kinda sad, really. I'm glad Gee (Gerard's nickname) doesn't let it get to him though and he just keeps trudging forward.

Rumors always around whenever someone in the spot light right? I hate too when this thing happen. Great! Gee did a great job in handling this bullshit. He is in a band or a solo singer?
