Description
Helloooo~and a HAPPY(late) NEW YEAR to all of you!
Did you spent New Year's Eve well?
For some time I decided to start a little series of paintings in a similar style with the main theme "music". Actually this series should only contain fast painted artworks, but with this one I'm REEEEAAALLY beyond the timeframe XD. Plus it doesn't fit very well to the other ones, but I don't care. I had fun with it
It's really rare, that I'm writing something like this: I'm a bit proud of the outcome of the skin tone. βgrinβ-Emoticon Now I will try to find some sleep again. Have a nice day!
Here are some steps:

In the music series, I like to wonder what music they are listening too.
But in this case, I'm pretty sure it's "ACDC - Thunderstruck" xD

HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR!!!Β Β Β
Wow this is so poweful!!
The first thing I thought about this is that he's listening to some heavy metal music hahaha, then I read your tags
It is noticeable that you took your time with this one, the rocker looks badass, his skin is so well rendered (my fav part is the nose, I can't draw noses right but you did splendid) and those thunders are so awesome omg, it's like I can hear the whole thing!

I see in the steps that you used the grayscale to color technique, the result is impressive! Do you always use this technique for coloring? Do you find it's quickier this way?
Β
Now, rest well dear, have nice dreams!

THANK YOU!!! Oh your comments always make me so happy
Haha, I also listened to a lot of metal-stuff while painting this piece.
Mhmm, actually I haven't a preferred technique. It depends on my daily mood and how detailed I have an idea in mind. Besides that I also noticed, that my greyscale works mostly look a bit more natural/realistic.
Ok the true reason is: I ony checked out now, how to color greyscale artwoks right. Therefore I'm still trying out, which is the best way for me to paint XD

Aww, it is my pleasure! I'm glad my little comments make you happy!!

Hahaha, yes, I imagined it, so you'd be able to get into the metal mood!
Ohhh I see! I've read that some artists use it for more realistic paintings indeed, it also helps to set the values and contrast of the piece without the distraction of picking colors. So, I think you did awesome on your first try!
