God I miss them as genins. Still an all time favorite part of the manga for me.
I love the whole setting of this picture! From how Naruto is in the forefront, arms crossed and looking into the picture, while Sasuke is somewhat hidden behind him. Looming and with a down cast gaze. (using cosplay names and genders because I'm thinking of these as actually Sasuke and Naruto XD
It reminds me of some of the pictures Kishimoto drew around this time.
All the alive, green trees in the background and then with what looks like a dead one is also nice. Gives it a slightly ominous feeling, I think.
