If you're wondering how this fits under 'love' here's my thought process:

Itachi loved Sasuke when they were young, and even though they fought later, the whole "Why are you so weak? It's because you lack...Hate." was a way of saying "I want you to become stronger, strong enough to surpass me and protect yourself with all you hold dear."
