Description People ask for new art and what do I do..? rEDRAWS.
I was just really curious about how my style and technique has changed over the years, so I wanted to do something to really show the difference. And WOW. I think this honestly just goes to show that you can always get better with both practice and time. Along with the fact that there is always an opportunity to drastically change your style if you wish to do so. I didn't particularly like drawing in 'anime style' all the time when I was younger, but it was the only thing I had the ability to do at the time because it was the only art style I had really studied. As time went on though, I slowly pulled myself away from it and started pushing myself to add more realistic details/proportions/etc. As you can see, now my style is kind of a mix or characteristic/illustrative as well as a bit more realistic/detailed than before. Anyway, enough about my drawing history-- Hope y'all like it!

Here is the original drawing from 2011 if you want to see the comparison (click the image to view the full submission):

Thanks so much!!!

I know, same here. Even though I've seen the movie countless times and stuff, it still gets me every time.

You're so welcome!!

I refused to see Johnny and Dally die again after seeing their deaths one last time 6 years ago in June (I fell in love with the movie and book 13 days ago this month 6 years ago, so I threw an anniversary party lol), so instead I would watch the movie all the way until the scene where the boys are at Dairy Queen

Omg that's some dedication lol!! And all I remember about when I fell in love with The Outsiders was that it was fall semester of my 7th grade English class. (So that would make it... 7 years ago..? OMG...)
But yeah even after all this time, Johnny/Dally's deaths still make me sad. ):

What I love about this movie/book though is that I was able to enjoy it at 13 and I am still able to enjoy it now at 20. I just see it in a different way than I did back then. It's interesting.

Omfg I was 13 when I read the book in 7th grade in the Spring semester!! Tbh I didn't want to read it at first because I thought it was going to be another "boring" book I've ever read in school. BOY WAS I WRONG. The Outsiders hit me like BANG! (shoutout to my Queen Taylor Swift's song "End Game"!). I remember we finished the book after Spring Break, took the final test and watched the movie the next week! The first time I saw the movie (the first half), I finally appreciated the book and fell in love with the characters (and the actors lol). Wondering if I'll make Anniversary #7 happen next year!! XD

Johnny was originally my favorite character, until it was switched to Ponyboy because we both share interests; reading, drawing, and watching movies (but only the movies I want to watch lol). I also love Dally, Soda and Two-bit, but Darry and Steve are okay.

I'm 19 rn (turned 19 two months ago), so I'll be 20 next year, good lord . Same, though I'm still obsessed with The Outsiders to this day (alongside Sailor Moon, Winx Club, and now Fairy Tail ).

Hahaha sameeeee, I always hated books assigned in-class other than this one! I remember I actually watched the movie by myself the night before we watched it in class, so I spent the whole class already knowing what was gonna happen and fangirling LOL All the girls in my class thought the greasers were crusty tho... So more for me I guess lmao?

I think Soda was pretty much always my favorite. I really liked him in the book even and wished they had included him more in the film. But I have a special place in my heart for all the greasersΒ

Hahaha same here, except I'm 20 now But yeah, this story will always be special to meΒ

I remember when I was in 2nd Grade, we read Charlotte's Web and watched both the live action and the animated films before we were then invited on a field trip to see a play in the city on Charlotte's Web at the time (I was such a scaredy-cat and a big crybaby when I was in elementary school, which got me into trouble A LOT -_-'), and in 5th Grade, we read Where the Red Fern Grows and It's Not Fair in the 5th Grade (I think that's what the book is called). Before The Outsiders in my 7th Grade year, we read Holes (and watched the 2003 movie), Oliver! (and the 1968 movie) and A Christmas Carol (watched the 2009 movie). I remember I kept eying Johnny a lot when we watched The Outsiders in class for the first time (I kept thinking that the movie came out in our time, when it really didn't )

It will be special to me too The Outsiders is one of the main reasons why I am who I am today ^_^

Omg you have a great memory about the books you've read! The only other book I remember reading was To Kill a Mocking Bird in 9th grade LOL Tbh, I didn't even read half the books I was assigned throughout grade school... Thanks sparknotes ahahaha~Β Β
But omg that must have been so disappointing to find out that it wasn't made super recently ): I was already kinda interested in the 80's before watching the film, so I figured it was older since the actors were still so young

Same same. The greaser boys have taught me a lot and helped me see good qualities to potentially find in other people. Especially Soda and Pony-- I wish I could meet a guy as sensitive and thoughtful as the two of them.

I remember we read To Kill a Mocking Bird when I was in 9th Grade (I found it boring and slept through it lol), alongside Of Mice and Men and my most favorite of all; Romeo and Juliet

It was disappointing to me, since it did look modern day somewhat, due to the colors and such, but computers was being invented at the time the film came out!! O.O

Me too omg
