Arakta's core is made of something as hot if not hotter than ctGrillby's. however, he has multiple membranes inside his main "skin" membrane to seperate his blood from his heat. Thats why instead of his face being darker where the area is thicker, its lighter because the membrane is thinner there.
For example, when he gets really pissed his scelera turn black, and he huffs out smoke. This is because there is a membrane protecting that part of his face, especially the eyes. The smoldering fire goes into the membrane and smokes it up, luckily not messing with his eyesight [since his iris's stay normal]

*paps your face* i can go on all day, but i've seen people make grillby into water elementals, so i dont think it always has to be a hot grillby *sweats* though, i wanted mine to stay hot so i came up with anatomy.

Ooooh, I like that actually. It sounds...vulnerable? Because with normal fire Grillby it's easy to imagine he's pretty stable, but having that constant balance of heat and blood in a body is a lot more complicated. Depending on how you imagine Grillby's body works it's easy to assume getting stabbed won't hurt him too much, because he's fire. But having actual membranes and levels of skin layered on top of the heat leaves a lot of room for some pretty gruesome injuries, if somehow the membrane is damaged or punctured. I kind of like the idea of someone being physically vulnerable in a fell universe, especially if that vulnerability also looks scary and intimidating (but I'm just assuming he's more vulnerable than fire Grillby, not sure how you've got that worked out, lol).

He would be more vulnerable than ctGrillby thats for sure, but thats also why he's a lot faster than ctGrillby. my original grillby does have a few membranes, but not as many. getting cut to grillby is about equivalent to bleeding to him. 

But yeah, theres lots of unexpected things with arakta that are still getting surprises out of people. Like...for the fact he plays the "Warbling woodpecker" as an instrument and not something like a guitar or bass, he's actually much more dependent on sealion in this au, so it's quite different i'd have to say!

I really do wanna make a lava grillby though, i had some really neat ideas for it hmmmm

pffft xD it's blood lovely. eeeeveryone in the stream said "magma" first, which is so amusing omg but at the same time, i almost wanna try that sometime though, i color it muuuuch different with magma/lava.

well blood and fire haha his core is very warm while there's a few membranes separating parts of his bloody body from his fire parts.
For example, whenever he gets angry his fire-containing membrane smokes up and smoke filters out of the sides of his mouth and behind his scelera. he's got anatomy roughly mapped out in my head!
