The thunder clashed loudly outside, followed by a strong flash of lightning that filled the sky. Everyone in the Leaf Village had run in just in time before the storm started. Naruto looked out of the window from where he laid in bed with his lover, and flinched as the thunder roared again. Sasuke slept soundly in bed with him, as Naruto moved as close to him as he could, and snuggled into him. He flinched again as it thundered outside, followed by another bright flash of lightning. Naruto shivered from fear and started to slowly rub his uneasy swollen stomach. He was just eight months pregnant with his and Sasuke's child, and could always be able to sense fear from it whenever something bad or worrisome happened.

Naruto looked at the sleeping Uchiha who faced the opposite direction of him, and nudged him gently. "Sasuke...Sasuke... are you awake?" he whispered.

There was no movement from him at first, until the blonde decided to give him another nudge, which caused him to shift. "Sasukeeee..." Naruto quietly whined.

Sasuke shifted again and groaned, then rolled over to face Naruto. "What...?" he replied, tiredly and impatiently.

Naruto just bit his lip for a second, then nuzzled Sasuke's neck gently and tried to look adorable, more than annoying. "Umm...nothing..." he whispered.

The raven-haired Uchiha sighed and switched into a more comfortable position and faced Naruto, playing slightly with the blonde's hair. "You seriously woke me up for nothing...?"

"Well...no...I couldn't sleep. And the storm was starting to scare me a bit..." he chuckled slightly and continued nuzzling him.

Sasuke just sighed again, but quietly continued to play with his lover's hair, as he let him snuggle into him. It was quiet for a few minutes, and all that was heard at the time was the heavy rain pounding against the bedroom window. The thunder rolled, but not as loud as the other time; not until just a second later, it rolled even louder, making Naruto flinch. Sasuke looked down at him, and he calmed down slightly, rubbing his stomach.

"Th-the baby's kicking....." he whispered, and smiled a bit. He chuckled lightly, looking up at Sasuke. "That's what's been keeping me up..."

Sasuke just couldn’t help but smile slightly, something he rarely does, realizing that the storm wasn’t the only thing preventing Naruto from going back to sleep. Then without saying a word, the blonde lifted his shirt up slightly, and then gently took Sasuke’s hand into his own, and placed it softly onto his belly.

The Uchiha paused for a second at the feel of his and Naruto’s unborn child lightly kicking at his touch. Sasuke was never a softy, but couldn’t help but fall in love with his lover’s swollen belly whenever the baby kicked at his hand. He kept his hand where it was, and quietly lowered himself down a little. He gently nuzzled his face into Naruto's stomach and rubbed it, making Naruto smile.

"The baby was actually scared too..." he whispered, quietly playing with Sasuke's hair. "But now that its daddy's here to protect it, it's okay now..."

Sasuke looked up at Naruto and blushed lightly.

"And so am I..." Naruto smiled widely, and blushed also when Sasuke kissed him lovingly. Of course, he kissed him back, gently pressing his body against Sasuke's.

"I love you, Sasuke..." he whispered.

"I love you too, dobe..."

Naruto yawned a little and snuggled closer to Sasuke, sighing happily and tiredly and closed his eyes. After a little while, the rain that pounded heavily on their bedroom window slowed down, as the thunder and lightning finally ceased. Sasuke shifted slightly and closed his eyes also.

"Naruto, I...I know I don't tell you this very often, but...I really do love you. I love you more than anyone or anything. You just mean so much to me...and most of the time, I really don't know what I'd do without you...or our baby." he sighed. "Honestly, I think I'd be very lost... I know, out of all times why would I be telling you this now? I don't know...but I do think you deserve to know atleast once in a while how much you and the baby really mean to me, and--"

Sasuke opened his eyes and blinked as he heard what sounded like a slight snort coming from down from the now 'sleeping' blonde, who interrupted him as he slept soundly, the smile still on his face. Sasuke sighed again, and covered up Naruto a bit more with the blanket that was over them and yawned a bit himself. He leaned in and gently kissed him on the cheek before muttering a loving "Goodnight, Naruto....." and slowly closing his own eyes and falling asleep, as their unborn child kicked softly against his hand.
