My first entry for the ZutaraEternity ongoing fanart challenge. Albeit, a little bit late... But I wanted to start things off with a bang, so I've been working on this for awhile.As for what's going on in the pic. It's based on an idea I've been developing for an AU fanfic. Basically, the Zuko and Katara in the front are reincarnated versions of the Zuko and Katara in the back. In the past, after the supposed defeat of the Fire Lord, Katara and Zuko get together (after much controversy and arguments between themselves) but things fall apart after Ozai and Azula reappear to reclaim the Fire Nation.
The modern day Zuko and Katara don't know anything of their past selves, and only when strange things start happening, and they start having recollections of things that never happened to them, do they begin to realize that there are things going on around them that are bigger than themselves.
When I get this started, it will feature the entire Gaang, though perhaps looking a bit differently than expected.
I had a lot of fun designing Katara and Zuko's outfits (both versions!) I hope this perks the interest of any Zutara fans out there, I'd love to hear what you think of my idea!

Lol, thanks! Mysterious is a great way to describe it I think! Though, I didn't think of that until now... The scene I wanted to show was their first meeting in the modern era, and they experience a major bout of deja vu, so it totally works!

Lol. What are you talking about, you know how to do that! Thanks for the sweet comments though, I'm glad that you appreciate all the details in there. It was a hard time getting the faces in the background to look decent.
Basically, I wanted to tell a story in this. So I started with the modern couple in the front (which was easier, because it's what I'm used to) and then framed the outside with the water and fire, since it is associated with both versions. Where I wanted the pic to show a sort of flashback to their past, I put their past faces larger and slightly lighter in colour to kind of show that.
I'm sure that I'm the only one who sees this much in the pic, but that you commented on the composition makes me think I did ok.

Lol. Force is such a negative word.... Just think of how much fun you can have pairing the two of them up in strange situations and costumes! And you can illustrate parts of your manuscript! Which is cool as well!

Yeah, I need practice drawing characters in difference poses and such, but I never seem to be brave enough to actually try it or I get frustrated and give up xD
I think I'm gonna start getting photographs and drawing them in teh poses, for practice.

Reference poses are suuuuper helpful and very much inspirational. There a tons of great stock artists on DA, or you can use your own photos. Mostly, I use stock artists, 'cause I don't want to make my own... *sighes*

Ooooh....amazing! I love both costumes but the modern ones are especially sweet. I love the idea too....it's really cool! You should write it...you write, I will try to read it!^^ The Zuko and Katara in the back are really good looking too....very nice job!

I love designing outfits for the two of them (re: Zutara Week - Denim lol) Just 'cause they haven't been really defined into a specific style, so I can put them into whatever I want! I tried to play into what we were given from the show, but Water Tribe and Fire Nation clothes are a bit awkward in the modern world... XD
I'm really looking forward to getting some time to sit down and write this! Though I have a few things to work out before that. I hope you like it, whenever I get it up here!
