Update (12-23-06)Played with the background ship, saturations, shadows, etc. Still working on it, but it's closer to where I'd like it to be.
As always, critiques welcomed.

This piece is still very much in works - it's a mixed media, as usual with me.
Front character is done entirely in Copics. Background is all photomanip and play.
Still not happy with the ship in the background - playing with that some more....

Who, lovely design, details, colours and textures.
About the ship.. I just think that it looks a little too vectoreized. Other than that, I like the shape of it.

Maybe the ship would look more right if there were more waves overlapping atop its hull. Know what I mean? Cause it looks like it's floating on the water absolutely weightlessly; like it doesn't have enough bulk to push at least part of the ship below the water. But it could also be something else entirely.
How did you do to the photos for the background anyway? A series of filters or something? It's a really neat effect.
