Description
This is part of an art trade with'So there I was, I almost reached the second boss of the game, my characters were all ready, I was just a few steps away from the door...
But then suddenly, a random encounter.
I sighed "Just a minor inconvenience, I'll just defeat theses monsters and move on" I uttered.
One of the enemies was a plant, a creature emitting some sort of gas.
I picked my moves and waited for my party to wipe them out.
*HELIVORE went first!*
"Really?" I yelled.
*HELIVORE used Gas!*
*Your party felt bloated...*
*Orange lunged... but he was being clumsy and missed!*
*Naby went for the face... but to no anvil!*
*Fia used Flamethrower... but apparently fire can miss!*
*Your party felt a overwhelming puffy feeling!*
"Bloated? That doesn't sound good."
I decided to run from the battle as I had no idea what was about to happen with this 'bloated' condition that the game mentioned.
*Got away safety!*
When I got to the overworld however, I was greeted with three sphere sprites, all of which were slightly bobbing up and down.
"W-What happened?"
Just to make sure my game wasn't having a glitch I paused and took a look at my characters status...
"Oh... that's what they meant by bloated."
All three of my party members appeared to have become balloons, suspended in mid air and unable to fight, I could still move in the overworld, but fighting was completely out of the question.
The only way to cure this ailment is De-puffs... to which I had none of.
Understandably I was a bit distressed.
"*Sigh* Now I have to do this dungeon. All. Over. Again!"
This week or two is going to be sprite heavy as I have a sudden urge to draw sprites.
And yes, I've pretty much given up with the excuse 'I didn't intentionally take inspiration from Earthbound' because apparently I copy it so well without knowing... You know I've never even played Earthbound. *Braces self with a bin lid for incoming rocks*
I'm sorry, I don't have a Wii U! T-T

This looks awesome, I really like how you made the RPG battle background as well as all of the sprites, they're all so cute (and so puffy~) >w<
Oh, and if you ever get a Wii U, definitely get Earthbound! That game is just great~

Ah, this is super adorable! I could totally run with something like this in a game, I think, haha. Makes me wonder exactly what a Helivore looks like... a-and how many victims they accumulate on the ceiling.

I'm sure there're probably quite a couple ones made in RPG Maker and the like! Heck, I'm working on one of my own- it's more text-based, but it's chat-based, so it's s'posed to be used just to get together, emulate some silly boss battles (like this one!) and come up with a few fun situations.
...Which is one of the reasons I thought about the enemy description, haha!

Then in addition to the balloons, we'll need a lot of treats... high-calorie, of course, so you can always tell who eats them by the fact that they get all roly-poly... definitely some fizzy drinks so we can have all the soda stealers sloshing around...

Rinori smiles, looking over the tables full of assorted cakes and other treats. "A-Ah, it all looks so delicious! Lemme just, um... just a little bit of this," she says grabbing a small slice of cake, "...one of these...," as she grabs a cupcake, "...and, uhm, maybe... o-oh, jeeze, this is already a lot. I'm gonna get a sugar rush..." With a timid smile, she opts for a smaller slice of a different, more chocolate-rich cake, and begins tasting her plate slowly. "Mm..."

She nods, wearing a wide smile on her face as she brushes a few crumbs from one of her lips, a bit of a blush on her face. "Y-Yeah, it's wonderful...!"

She nods again in between bites, finishing off one of the slices of cake, and takes a deep breath. "Y-Yeah, kind of. It's not often that I get to sort of indulge, hehee. I just have to be careful not to eat too much before everyone else gets here, you know...?"

She perks up, smiling widely. "I-I mean, don't get me wrong, it's really good...! I just, uh... I-I'd feel guilty. Maybe I can help decorate or, um... I dunno. Do you have a helium tank or anything? I could start decorating with the balloons or something..." Rinori takes a moment to eat another bite of the cake. ...It really is very rich cake. It's not easy to tell with her sun dress, but she's already got a bit of a belly going...?

She paces a bit nervously, looking down at her plate and putting her fork down next to a half-finished slice of cake as her now-free hand reaches toward her stomach...
A blush appears on her face. She was a bit chubby now...!

She smiles warmly, taking another bite of her cake as she thinks. Once she was finished with that, no more... "W-Well, um-" She swallows, looking over timidly. "Sweet things are nice, I suppose? Something like... I dunno, grapes? Apples? ...Maybe something blueberry? U-Uh, if you don't have anything like that, it's fine..."

She nods, taking a seat at a nearby table and picking idly at the rest of her cake. Well... she'd already picked that out, though, so it's not as if she could put it back! Rinori hesitates a moment before lifting a bite up to her lips with a hungry smile and eating the delectable frosting... only to find herself leaning back in the chair, her free hand rubbing at her stomach. "Nn..."

Rinori! I'm back with a basket full of natures banquet.

Rinori smiles, sitting back up and pushing her plate (still with cupcake) to the side. "A-Ah, I'm glad! I just, er... here, can you pick me out a few that look good? I, uhm, don't wanna get up... ehe." She blushes again, embarrassedly, as she wrings her hands together in her lap.

Alright then, well I looked around the best I could and while I found some varieties of fruit I could only find blueberries for the most part.
*I show Rinori the basket of blueberries, there was also several cherries and an apple that were visible in the basket.*

She perks up, looking the basket of fruit over. "A-Ah! Wow, they look delicious. The cherries are an especially nice surprise... b-but I can't eat the apple if there's only one, hehee. I'd feel really bad..." Rinori smiles brightly before taking a cherry and popping it into her mouth, her warm smile allowing a little bit of the juice to dribble from the side of her mouth... which she hurriedly wipes away with a hand, blushing. "Er... s-sorry. Hehee."

She's a bit more careful this time, but she's very definitely enjoying the fruit. "Wh-Where'd you get these from...?"

We're right near a fruit orchard, so I just picked some from there.

Hehee." The blush on her face is becoming a bit more evident... except that she's not embarrassed. She's just turning a bit red.

She stands to her feet, and now the effects are a little bit pronounced- that sundress of hers is starting to hug her body rather closely, and it's evident that her new body weight isn't something she's accustomed to, with her anxious wobble carrying her clumsily back and forth as she seems to slosh a little. "A-Ack...! Hey, what's... what's going on...?" She looks down at herself, her face turning increasingly red- NOW she's blushing, in addition to everything else. Even her fingers are turning red...

"I-I don't know...!" She stammers a few times as she looks herself over, wobbling away from the table. She's actually growing a bit bigger as the moments go on, her stomach now pushing her dress out as she becomes more and more round. ...Especially with her arms beginning to shrink away, too! "A-Ack! H-Hey, um, that orchard... th-there wasn't anything weird there that- y-you gotta take me there...!"
