Description
The eighth item of the Mutually Friendly Opera Project [MFOP], a parallel assignment game with Mr ~Divadlo . This is Turandot from Puccini's opera about the ice-cold and cruel Chinese princess (according her last riddle: "the ice that sets you on fire") and the Tartar prince who finally brings back flame to her frozen libido. With the "costume" I tried to convey asexuality and hidden passion at the same time, along with references to other signs of her inherent duality - and of course the three riddles yet unpopped on the top of her head.
Model: M.
Make-up and indispendable help: *Grenadine-rea

yeah, she is from China, a princess from a Chinese tale.
she is mostly known from the opera interpretation of Giacomo Puccini.

It is very reminiscent of Princess Yuki from "The Hidden Fortress" (1958), great work!

A feat well accomplished, too! I noticed that one hand had the fingernails painted, and the other did not... bare skin versus hard plastic(?), and only half-clothed. Certainly a good juxtaposition.
One of my FAVORITE operas of all time. What an interesting interpretation! I love it! Thank you, too, for explaining some of your artistic intentions with this piece; it really helps the viewer appreciate your photo. Fantastic!

her face is a make-up work of high art. those painted masks that one wishes one could preserve, hang on the wall; though this might be too haunting to look down from a wall, day by day.
i like and dislike the symmetry and simplicity of the composition at the same time; but i definitely live the little details like her asymmetrical nail polish.

that means that you are treasuring Grennie's work here and not mine.
it's okay, it's okay.

in a sense, the make-up does make the image here; but then of course there is so much more to it. light and pose, background, arrangement and moment; all those things. but to me, grΓΆnnie's work shines the most here.

heheeh sorry for the delay I was on vacations
I love the cold and icy top, she really looks as a men repeller or frighten them away, must be tought to be her.
seeing this I'd love to see the entire cast of this production it would be awesome!
You know what we should do some day? desing the whole universe or the opera (not this one) to get to see the places, the other characters etc!
great job my friend!

thanks, guapo!
well guess what: I am still on vacations!
hmmm I get your idea, but in that case I think we should rather direct the whole opera ourselves! hehehehe. the only problem is that in that case we would have to find people who can actually sing...
...so let's just stay at the photographic assignment, I agree. as a finale of the MFOP, we can attempt what you suggested.

"bring back flame to her frozen libido"
don't see that sort of description often enough.
well penned and pictured, mr highbrow.

This is simply beautiful!
However, I would think of some detail to improve the contrast between hidden sensuality and external coldness. For example, the background could've been blue on the upper side and turning red on the lower side. Or maybe it could be bright on the upper side and darker on the lower side.
