Someone was trying to get me to quote them a price for a painting - it's been about 8 years since I've done one, so I thought I'd better do a test run and see if I'm up to it (and how long it would take, and to calculate the cost of materials)... I was going to do a portrait of my wife, but she wanted me to paint this instead .

Project took 2 days (4 hours each day, yesterday and today) and materials were roughly $40... damn. That's a lot of money for materials.... I'm used to making an investment of less than $1 in materials per image I create.

I'm happy with the way it turned out, but less than enthused with the poor image quality I'm getting from my attempted photo attempts. This is why I don't like large scale..... (even though it looks pretty darn cool in person!)
