I love Jareth's profile in the upper left, with the soft shading on his cheekbone and jaw.
...I betcha he's faking it, the opportunist.

I feel confident that Sarah will be the one to administer "true love's kiss" in volume four of Return to Labyrinth.
Lovely sketches!

is there supposed to be a "true love's kiss"? I didn't read all the volumes, I skimmed through the 2nd and 3rd to get the gist of the storyline. I'm not a big fan -- the art work leaves much to be desired.
Although I'm still curious to find out what happens, I admit.

YES! There is a true love's kiss in store. Here is the prophecyβas chosen by Toby and Mizumi in volume one:
When King of Old Forsakes his hall,
And chaos comes to Goblin Town,
A human boy shall heed the call,
The long lost heir shall don the crown.
A promise of yore, born of blood,
will open path to labyrinth's heart,
and usher forth a wonderous flood --
A new era, then, shall start.
When friends are found and family lost,
and prince cast into dark abyss.
The Labyrinth and its rightful heir,
Shall be restored by true love's kiss.
I am also not completely in love with the Manga. Volume three was a let down. Perhaps volume fourβthe final installmentβwill be better? Here's hoping.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Riddles in the dark. Curiosity is definitely piqued. I wonder when volume 4 is going to be released, and how I'm going to get my hands on a copy here in Asia....

Top left is gorgeous, I'd love to see it done independently as a larger, more detailed sketch.
And re: If anyone knows of any tricks of the trade I can apply, feel free to share!
If you use a very sharp pencil and draw the head adornment first, outlining it very thinly, then you can very tediously color in the hair around it. It's a pain in the butt, however.

Thanks! I tried it for the sketch of just Sarah, and I think it kind of worked. The only problem I think is that I'm much too sloppy a drawer for this to work all the time. I tend to leave a lot of sketch lines *points above* instead of just drawing one clean line.

These look amazing for pencil sketches! You managed to make them so detailed with the shading alone!

Thanks! I'd really like to flesh out these sketches, but I have yet to install Adobe Photoshop on my computer. Perhaps in the future! ^^
