Looks very much like a...Saker, I think they're called. They come from over in the middle east. <3 Gorgeous birds. I've always wanted to be a Falconer (A person who trains and handles birds of prey like that pretty falcon there. ^^ ) and...that's a very good shot. <3 You've some gorgeous ones on that link, too.

Aw thanks! Yea it's definitly a falcon, and they would use him in the orchards to scare away crows and other birds I think.

ummm, was it tethered, or really wild and just curious? (Is it a hawk or falcon, looks like a young hawk to me, but I'm not an expert...) I love the way they can close that third eyelid, kind of like a glass closing over their eye, very creepy...

Its a falcon. It was on someones arm. But I think they had a rope on its leg. he was so pretty though!

they're trained to fly after lures....we see them at the renaissance faires, sooooo cool! They are such beautiful birds.
