On our Earth angelsharks belong to the single genus Squatina but on Great Lakes Earth they have diversified to fill in niches left empty by the absence of rays. From left to right top to bottom they are:
Bladefin: based on flying fish and the bladefish from Dungeon meshi
Jenny's Sea Devil: based on Jenny Hanivers, dried bodies of rays and skates that were reported to be the remains of small sea monsters and dragons
Ulysses' Arrowhead: based on arrowheads and the Pokémon Dragapult
Lesser Butterfly Shark: based on the placoderms Stensioella and Pseudopetalichthys
Roland's Lunaria: based on the placoderm Lunaspis
Great Seraph: based on the basking shark
