Guys it's not just about being physically beautiful, it's about having a beautiful heart. And remembering that Allah has made you perfect as you are, it doesn't matter how you look on the outside, what matters most is if you have an ugly heart or not. When someone calls you ugly/fat/gross or whatever, remember that it's not one's looks that are ugly, but their heart. To me, 'ugly' or 'fat' does not mean someone's looks, it's what's inside that's important. Being attractive shouldn't matter, you should feel happy that you're even alive. What's ugly is when someone has ugly intentions, their thoughts are ugly, what they say is ugly, their behaviour becomes ugly too. You can be the most attractive person in the world, yet have a disgusting heart.
What's anyone's right to call another person ugly anyway, or any name for that matter? Nobody has the right to judge someone else based on things like looks, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age or disability. You are not that person, you can not see what's in their heart, in their head, anything they've been through. You have no right to be inconsiderate or mean. Instead, reach out to someone who may be in need of help, offer comfort, be kind, and do your best to share the love you have so you don't end up with an ugly heart.

As someone who's... mostly modest, I've always wondered why being beautiful meant covering so much of yourself that isn't outright distracting. Wouldn't a society have to "take a good, hard look at themselves" (Australian expression) and determine where the divide is between what distracts and what they're over-focused on to best interpret the commandments they live under?
