Welcome to the algae fields of Futuroza!
At the edge of young kelp forest, there is an area covered with low marine vegetation. This area is inhabited by a variety of creatures that survived a global warming 50 million years ago.
Among the kelp, various types of ichtycarids are hidden - the descendants of modern shrimps, which occupied small-sized niches of scavengers, filter feeders, herbivores and even predators. This picture shows three species of these strange creatures. A kelp-eater who has already appeared in a recent post. in the right corner in the background is a predatory species that has caught meadow polychete with its claws. And small orange scavengers that follow the shark in anticipation of scraps from its prey.
Also a group of filterfeeder shrimp is hiding on the kelp gas bubbles.
Various squid groups also call this biome their home, such as the banana tentaclorynch that you can see in the foreground. It is preparing for an attack on the kelp-eater ichthycarid. Or, for example, the fast and formidable plesiosauric squid chasing a flock of descendants of modern anchovy in the background. Also in this picture you can notice two species of squid, which are hiding among the kelp.
A striped six-gill shark sweeps over the field. These animals have practically not changed for all 50 million years and calmly inhabit the various ecosystems of the oceans of the future.
