Description
As the two progress further into the city, they are ultimately drawn to a massive, ominous entrance which is the opening of a tunnel. Compulsively they are drawn in, finding further horrors: evidence of dead Elder Things caught in a brutal struggle and blind six foot penguins wandering around placidly. They are confronted with an immense, ululating horror which they identify as a Shoggoth. They escape with their lives using luck and diversion. On the plane high above the plateau, Danforth looks back and sees something that causes him to lose his sanity, and which he is too far gone to describe.------
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange Γ¦ons even death may die.

Thank you Glad you enjoyed. Sadly, my recent time has been absorbed by the mundane activities needed to pay bills so I miss working on digital graphics. Best wishes on your own artistic journey. Cheers!

Thanks, Kathy. I started with a clip art photo of ice at the edge of a glacier. I was drawn to the bluish translucency of the ice and the subtle suggestion of faces (like seeing shapes in clouds). As the drawing began to resemble a cave entrance, I was reminded of descriptions from Lovecraft's story.

Thank You! Yes, I had read Lovecraft's 'At the Mountains of Madness' (an eerie Antarctic expedition) and I wanted to draw what I imagined. Glad you like it!

Thanks! I think it might be a mild form of OCD. It does require lots of patience. In fact, if I had any more patience I could have been a doctor...[snare drum riff and a cymbal crash] Thanks folks, you've been a great audience! I'll be here all week.

Good Job! The great thing about Lovecraft is his descriptions are so vague, anything "so horrifying to be described" can be done, and you're never wrong!
