Time probably 7 hours total at least, including stock searching.

Layers I think 50-something... ugh. (how did I manage to turn it into that many layers anyway??)
Comments This is my first time working with fire and raw water (raw being no brushes and no idea what I'm doing). I guess the lighting for the fire is ok, but I really am clueless.
I have to thank my little brother for his amount of random [formerly] useless insight. He was walking by as I was working, when I only had the bay in the hole, no flames, and said "Hey that horse could use a guardian angel right about now." And I took it literally. Then he walks by 3 hours later and goes "Dude, it's like the Armageddon. Only you need the fires of hell." You see where that went
So... thanks for being your annoying self, Nerdus Maximus.

Concept
This piece has two points of view. They both share the same event. Depending on you and your preferences, choose whichever one you feel the most.
#1 The original idea for this piece. A lost soul finds himself falling through a trap set by the devil, to burn in the fires of hell, when suddenly he sees a light... his protector, coming to rescue him from his battle with sin and suffering. An 'internal' battle being won.
#2 The final battle between good and evil... literally. That being, the one soul is paying for the cost of his ways, while the other finds the reward of eternal happiness... though perhaps with one less friend.

I feel it should be noted, due to the theme of this piece. that I do NOT believe that the world will end in 2012. It could end tomorrow or a billion years from now. If you ask me, only God knows when it will end and 'tis blasphemy to say otherwise.
They've been telling us we're gonna blow up or get eaten by aliens and other crazy junk for thousands of years. But, hey, guess what?
