the Norse had horses, if tiny ones at that. bananas are tropical, I would be very surprised if they even knew what it was.

they had snakes, but yes I will admit not giant ones, though it dose not take much imagination to make something bigger.

If you still want to ague with that here's two points: one. there is no snake big enough to rap around the world so unless they really did see it, a constrictor would not make much difference. and two. the idea of a really big snake seems universal, even in Australia there is the rainbow serpent.

Australia has boas and pythons.  Northern Europe doesn't.  that was my point.

(one could argue that the Norse knew of constrictors from the Volga-to-Baghdad route and traders down there...but that would also have left them aware of banana-like plants)

seeing really big snakes wouldn't make that much difference, you've still got to dream it bigger. no mater what its original size was.

Ok. so maybe they did see bananas, but you cant grow them in a place that is so cold its winters last for six months. and since Asgard was supposed to be like that to,... they can't grow bananas either!

when Ullr is not encage it is still freezing, they call it summer but it would still snow a lot. (maybe not 24 7 but a LOT) when Ullr takes over it become so cold you can freeze to death just by taking a bath. (how did they live like that, no bath for so long  ) you CAN'T grow bananas in a place like that.
