What branch of service were these men in? My gut instinct is Marines, but the "covers" don't seem to quite match.
Amazing picture too!

repeating geometric shapes gradually disolving into the background always look great in a photograph, with 'narrow dof' refering to the area of the shot in focus [link]

Nice capture, but the watermark is way too distracting, I guess i'm just not very good at looking at defaced photography

Don't get me wrong, the comment sounded kind of harsh, and came as a reaction based on how much I liked the photo but couldn't really get the feeling of it in full view. Great DOF, only technicall complaint is that it seems a tad soft on the subject, Its tricking though getting just the right focus with low f-stops.
Hope you like my gallery, let me know what you think

haha, its ok. Brief stint in air force training has made me a bit of a tough cookie. I take harsh comments well... as long as it bashes the deed not the breed Don't worry, no tears here... send me a note with your email address I'll email the picture to you.
I know! haha... focus is really tricky. Have to get the hang of it. I dont have my own dslr yet..(stuck with digital
) oh well.

I know how that all feels, I finally bought a dSLR this year for myself, one of the best investments i've made. Already earning the money from it back with my first publication. my advice is get to the point where you really understand the limitations of a normal digital camera, and when you get what you can't do with that, then you'll be able to start learning how to make it possible in slr. Knowing your boundries is everything, for breaking them that is.
Anyways thick skinn, and being able to take harsh comments is always a good atribute, one thing living in Holland has given me to, the Dutch are increadibly blunt and direct, I kinda like it in a twisted way.
