Info: Rhen is an all round skilled Earthbender. With sand, He can swim through it, and use it to subdue enemies, as well as means to travel. With metal, He has a metal rimmed Dai Li hat that he uses in combat situations, as well as metal bands and objects he can morph for tactical reasoning. And Ink, rhens trump card ability. It's his last resort and something he learned from Lord Shanri. Rhen is able to shift his tattoos to what he prefers, and able to release it from his skin to use lethally. When in the Avatar state, the tattoos form the symbols of Raava+Vaatu.

Info: Rhen uses air-bending mainly for means of stealth + slight speed boosts. He also uses it to get out of tight situations. He's also prone to use air bending lethally similar to Zaheer, but ... as an interrogation method. When rhen learns sound-bending from Teal, he doesn't quite master it.

Info: Rhen rarely uses fire-bending, but he's able to use it for tactical reasons. He will often heat the rim of his dai li hat/or use Lightening. As for combustion, Rhen is taught this from Mako and his grand daughter Icharra (E-Car-ah) on Zuko Island. He never got a hang of it, although. Just as Icharra and Mako, they cannot control the combustion with their minds, so they have the combustion symbol in the palm of their hands to guide it. Rhen only has one on his right hand, but only uses it when necessary. Rhen later learns the true nature of combustion bending when he runs into the Owl Phoenix, the original combustion bender.
Just added: When in Avatar state, Rhen can shift the Owl Phoenix eye(combustion symbol) to his forehead, and use a multi beam blast.

Info: Rhen loathes water bending, but not for reasons you might think.Rhen is big on self control, and focus, When he water bends, he feels like someone else is taking control, rather than himself. Even with this lack of control, he actually water bends as if he's a master. Truth is, it's actually Vaatu within Rhen, and his alternate past life... Unalaq.
Just added: Later on Khattan teachers Rhen Self-bending, which is blood bending yourself to increase your speed, stamina, and strength.

Rhen is stoic initially, and very straight forward. Many times he will say or mention something without much thought as to how someone feels, not because he's insensitive, but because he sees value in recognizing flaws and fixing them, but beware his sarcasm. Rhen does have a playful side to him, he just has to warm up to you. At heart, he has the personality of a Virgo.

Raava x Vaatu
According to Bryke, Vaatu is dormant within Korra. In this series, Vaatu is near the breaking point of being revived fully. Due to Rhens upbringing, he tends to go into the Avatar state favoring Vaatu, where his eyes turn Red. Doing so does not place him in a full Vaatu State, since Vaatu is still weakened, but later in the series that changes as Vaatu is fully revived within him. When Rhen fully balances RaavaXVaatu and enters the Avatar state, a compound of sub elements surround him rather than the typical elements, and he goes all out with power unmatched.

Past Lives
Initially, Rhen cannot connect to his past lives, matter of fact, he doesn't know such a thing exists. But when he learns the truth about what the Avatar is, he attempts to. Due to Korra losing her past lives, Rhens connection is a bit... static. When he seeks to connect with his previous life, for example, he'd get Roku instead of Korra or some other past life. It will actually take some time for him to connect to Korra in the series. Also, for example, if he wants combat advice from Kiyoshi, he will try to channel her, but gets Aang instead. Rhen actually has an interesting relationship with Aang in the sense that he rather not get advice form him. When Rhen finally earnestly wants to connect to Korra for advice of dealing with a family member he might have to kill...Shanri... Rhen ends up connecting with someone he did not expect.... Unalaq.

Lord Shanri:
- When Rhen was a child, he lived with his poor mother in the desert oasis of the Earth Republic. One day as they were attacked by bandits, Shanri, who was on an expedition at the time ran into them. Shanri saw how much strength the boy had inside him as he didn't back down from the bandits, so Shanri saved them, and brought them into his palace. Shanri then gave Rhen work under him in the Dai Li to provide for his mother. Rhen was eager to become strong and later when Rhen showed signs of being the Avatar, Shanri took Rhen under his wing & was eager to teach Rhen everything he knew. They developed a kinship where Sanri see's him as a nephew or son.
Teal (Taeyali Manasi):
- Rhen meets Teal as a captive of the Dai Li. She's presented to Rhen as a gift to further his fulfillment as the Avatar. Teal later on asks why he's with the dai li, and tells him some of the terrible things they have done. Rhen dismisses what she says, later Rhen has a reoccurring dream where someone tells him to find Mako. He has no idea what this is, and think it's a City. He asks Shanri, but Shanri tells him it's probably just nothing. Teal over hears Rhen speaking of his dream in her cell, and says, Hey, you know old man mako!! Rhen asks her what she knows. Days late rrhen is still curious. Later, rhen hears word that his mother has died, he goes through depression, and wants to find her killer. Teal urges rhen to ask the man he calls master what happened... Rhen becomes skeptical but tells her to shut up. Teal goes on to tell Rhen what the avatar is what he should stand for and that he's on the wrong side, out of anger he seals her cell closed with earth. But then out of curiosity, rhen asks teal what have they done to her or what has she heard. He slowly begins to realize that the dai li has hurt many ppl. Rhen does his own research and even ask comrades of things they've done. Then, Rhen has a dream of Shanri killing his mother. Rhen tells shanri of his dream, and shanri remains silent. Then tells rhen that sometimes unfortunate things happen when someone is at the wrong place at the wrong time. rhen is confused but Shanri continues how he regrets it, earnestly, but continues to explain that he went out to stop a coup , and as his men got rid of the men there, his mother happened to be too, and they killed her. He says he mourned and killed his own men for her death.Out of anger Rhen ridicules Shanri, and tells him "This is it, this is what you always do, right?" "How many ppl have we hurt, how many lives have we ended?!" Shanri tries to apologize but rhen storms out. Rhen finds teal and tells her they are leaving and he has to find mako, that he doesnt know why but he feels like he has to find him. Teal insists they take Khattan who has been asleep for a long period of time, Rhen says w.e and they head out on thei're journey to find Mako. Rhen is very stoic with her initially but later becomes good friends with her... almost seemingly romantic, but they strictly love each other as friends. (This is also mainly chapter 2 lol)
Khattan Bofan:
Khattan and Rhen start off fighting as Khattan wakes up the day after Rhen escapes with teal. Khattan notices Rhens Dai Li attire and attacks. Soon after they are both too weak to move, Rhen explains to Khattan that he has defected. Khattan explains why he hates the Dai Li and swears to take them down. Rhen acknowledges Khattans reasoning, and promises him he will do what he can as his duty being the Avatar. Later they both grow respect for each-other and become sparring buddies.
Mako x Icharra:
Icharra is the granddaughter of Mako. She is a skilled fire-bender and has the sub ability of combustion bending. Rhen is trained by Mako in Zuko island, a dragon refuge. Mako teaches Rhen what he knows about fire-bending, lightening and combustion. Soon after Gerek and Dai Li agents catch up to them, Mako is killed in the battle. Later on Rhen has to take Icharra as his teacher. SN. Teal and Icharra do not get along so well. Icharra is demanding while Teal is a free spirit.
Terro: Terro is Teals adopted little brother. He is a techie and the creator of the Aurora, their airship. Terro looks up to rhen, but also threatens him to stay away from his big sister, other than that they get a long.
The Shadows Will:
The Shadows will is Shanri's Elite guard. These four Dai li agents are highly skilled and trained underneath Shanri himself. The members are: The Shadows Blade, The Shadows Eye, The Shadows Strength, and The Shadows Void (Names subject to change) Rhen had become one of the Shadows Will and nicknamed, "The Shadows Fist." until he defected. He was trained along with them and knows everyone of their skills. They are sent after Rhen later on in the last book, titled Ink.
