EDIT: Whoa, my first EQD feature?! Thank you all so much!To those saying that Twilight looks odd, I know. I've never really attempted to draw the female G4 style before as I'm more used to drawing horse-like faces, which is why Shining is more consistent.
Pretty much what Shining Armor suggested when he said that Celestia may let Twilight "Retake the test." How do you retake saving an Empire?

Well, there could be. Who knows? As it was mantioned before, 1000 years ago things were kinda slow, so there had to be an evil force around. One can suppose that some places still need a fix or two. We have no idea.

Yeah, pretty much. In my canon, Celestia had it even harder after Luna's banishment, as she was unable to properly wield the Elements of Harmony. My fanfic's villain, a long time ago, was a pegasus who wanted power, so he embraced the dark power of fire and became a menace to the world. Celestia tried to banish him, but her lack of faith made it hard. She finally sealed his body in the Mythic Forest, which lies beyond Everfree Forest and close to the gate to Tartarus(in my canon, beyond the Everfree Forest is unknown territory, not even Tia knows what lies there), but his spirit slowly became a devicorn, managing to reach Ponyville and trigger the B plot of my fanfic, "MLP: Mythic Forest".

1000 years ago was very unproductive... Are you one of those bronies that's really crazy into the show or something because your taking this way to seriously. All kinds of stuff happened exactly 1000 years ago in the show. So it was unproductive. Kingdoms fell. Equestria failed at first as you can see the old castle in Everfree Forest. The crystal empire fell (vanished). Discord's empire fell as well. Villains surfaced up in that time period seeking either chaos, forever night, or slaves and lots of missed opportunities to learn proper English (Last two are all on Sombra) (He was a terrible villain and not terrible in a good way the bad way) So 1000 years ago was unproductive. There's your over complicated answer that you were searching for I hope you're happy

Only one kingom was confirmed to have fallen, when did it say any others fell? That is what I am asking.
Sombra was the only villain who is confirmed to enslave ponies too, Discord just used them as his playthings, but they weren't exactly slaves, and Nightmare Moon didn't even get the chance.

Hehe... just imagine Twilight telling King Sombra off, pleading that she needs "5 more minutes" to "complete her test", and he being all like "NO! You put your quills away right now, and turn that scroll in, or else you won't pass this semester!"

Either that, or he actually used to be capable of rational speech ... but I'd guess a 1000 year imprisonment in solitude doesn't do all that well with one's mental health, if one is a mortal unicorn as opposed to a godlike alicorn to begin with.

...well, seeing what choices Trixxie made while harnessing the power / under the influence of the Alicorn amulet ("Wheels cannot be trusted"), I'd strongly lean towards "Sombra's dark powers gave him brain damage".

The backgrounds are the same, and there isn't anything going on in them. What saves this comic is that all six figures featured were all clearly drawn separately, and from scratch. Your style is also one I haven't seen before. Without saying whether it needs work or not, being truly unique is noteworthy.

Also, all we ever saw of the Crystal "Empire" was one city. Come to think of it, it makes more sense for it to be a city, as more people would notice if an entire COUNTRY vanished. Also, my new theory about Luna becoming Nightmare Moon is that it wasn't actually jealousy, but rather stress of the million problems going on at the time. Why is it that every problem Equestria ever had all occurred roughly a thousand years ago, to reemerge all at more or less the same time?
